Re: '72 chevrolet c20 custom camper build "Craig"
Aw shucks. I was hoping you'd make the cab corner out of the barrel, too;)
Just finally got around to going through your thread here. Looks great! I really struggled with my LMC cab corners getting them to fit right, and had to do lots of hammer work on the rockers, too. Nothing like a nice closing door. I don't know if you are doing it or not, but you can drill an alignment hole through the hinges into the a-pillar once you get it working perfectly so when you remove it later you can line it back up using the drill bit or equally sized rod. Got that idea from Mr. Duckworth for mine. Can't get over the fact that I'm not looking at pictures of Mustard when going through your thread. Sort of surreal. Keep it up! |
Re: '72 chevrolet c20 custom camper build "Craig"
Nice work Dean! Its a real challenge to get everything lined up right, but you did a nice job.
Funny you mention that Nick, because I was searching my drivers side door pillar the other day for my door alignment holes and I guess I forgot to drill them in. lol |

Re: '72 chevrolet c20 custom camper build "Craig"
So the first side was just a warm up.... LOL!
Nice compressor, i need a dual stage, i was stupid and listened to the ass sales guy at sears, he talked me out of it, said look at the Scfm ratings, what are you using it for? you'll be fine, Bla Bla Bla..... Long story short every time i pull a trigger on my die grinder it fires up and runs non stop... |

yeah the dual stages are nice...especially the cast iron oil kind like this. they are MUCH quieter and last longer. what size is yours? |
Re: '72 chevrolet c20 custom camper build "Craig"
Mine would be the very noisy discontinued model of this one, I had to pull the cover off for a recall and they sent me a new cover, guess some were over heating, it was exactly the same as the cover i took off except it had none of the compressor info on it so i threw the replacement housing in the trash and kept the old one with the info. I was amazed because i looked at the size and stroke of the piston, it was about 1.25 diameter, stroke of about 1".. cheesy as hell..

Very nice progress Dean. The driver side looks really good. Half way down. Nice score on the compressor!
