Re: The Definitive 67-72 Seat Swap Guide Thread ....
The floor is not structured for integrated belt seats. Much reinforcement is required to safely install them. A factory bench cab is not even braced for stock buckets. Integrated belt seats is 10 times as serious.

Anyone try 2015 Impala buckets in a 72 C10? Just saw some locally that were nice.

Re: The Definitive 67-72 Seat Swap Guide Thread ....
Honestly I'm glad this old thread got dredged up again, like looking at other people's ideas, I'm currently fighting a set of 69 Camaro buckets. Trying to figure out how high I need to raise them to build a custom bracket. I was planning on using the original seat adjusters that are on the Camaro seats but now I'm almost wondering if I can't bolt a bucket seat frame from a newer truck to the Camaro seat so long as it's got a manual adjustment because completely stock they sit way too low

When I bought my 69 c10 stepper the bench seat was worn out. I decided to bite the bullet and have a seat made. I went with TMI. They offer a lot of options and made the frame as a direct bolt in. I had them add seat heaters. I super satisfied with them. Sorry about the sideways pic. 🤠

Thank you!
Is there a "How-to" for flipping pix? On my phone they are correct, but when they are loaded here, they show up sideways. |

When I got my truck one of the most appealing things was it was mostly unmolested. Except for the install of this seat, but it was done the usual way as they threw it in, used 1 original bolt hole and drilled the rest in the floor. It wasn't even centered in the truck.
The truck had sat in a barn for 13-14 years before I bought it and had the usual rodent houses, and such. Since I didn't think I had much to lose, I soaked it down with Super Clean, turned my pressure washer down to its lowest setting and washed until the water ran clear. Sucked as much water out with my shop vac as I could and sat it in the 90 degree Arkansas sun. I was so happy with it I decided to keep it and got some heavy steel to make some brackets that use the factory mounting holes. You can sort of see one in the photo here. I have since changed to factory, black mounting bolts. Oh yeah, and replaced the windshield - which was a whole other project. |

This is the exact bench seat I have. Do you by chance have any pics of the bracket you made?

Bought a 67 GMC last month, sight unseen, without ever sitting in one.
Factory Buddy seats in good shape. Very tight to ingress and egress as I walk with long leg braces and crutches. Thought the c10 was spacious like the square bodys are. Anyway, have obsessed in finding seats to give me more room. Settled on Red 63 Corvette seats as the smallest seats I could find. Bought eBay adjustable seat risers which should move seat down 2 inches and back 2 inches. I have a lot of work to do before I drive my new truck. Hand controls, 12 bolt 373 posi and seats. Still waiting on Title from Florida. |
