I found this picture on the net and my curiosity got the best of me so I did some searching.

^ Cruisin`the convertible around the countryside,huh?
That`s a bad Oliver.I don`t recall a V8 in the one I ran,but it was 30 or so years ago and I wasn`t that focused on the machine back then.Thinking back,I do recall the lower throaty sound that may have been the V8.I just think I would have recalled the heads hangin`right and left like that.
Hmmm...a Reenalt 4wd,eh?Ooh la la!

Did I show this, yet? It was just on Ebay and it`s brand new.I think it`s from Argentina where FCs were made & marketed for many years past availability in the US:

This fellow was the master of buliding tandem tractors! He did it for a long time.

For those that never spent time around these Johnnies, they are a 2 cylinder engine!

and we have a winner in the ugly category. Seriously though I wonder what the specs are on that thing? It looks heavier than the others I've seen and I've never seen a 4 wheel drive! Just a pic Tim or do you know more about this strange truck? I see it has five lugs, so 1/2 ton?

I just nabbed the picture.I know it`s a Napco conversion.I guess it`s a`59,the last of that style. The white piece on the front end is actually fiberglass.Studebaker did alot of things that were ahead of the times. Not always well accepted.I think I posted a heavier Black one at the beginning. If not I`ll pop that one up.

I love Studebakers. The guy who used to smog my cars back in the day, in another state had one with a cummins turbo diesel, it looked pretty rough but was bad ass. I have some pics of a cool street rodded Studabaker with an LS1 I took at a car show last year, but I don't want to poop in the 4x4 theme punch bowl.

Alright since we are on the Studebaker theme at the moment.

Sorry for the newer pictures I know this is not a vintage, classic or otherwise but did anyone know you could get a "newer" Studebacker.
I found this 2yr old article here http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2006/12/page/5/

Looks like an ugly version of an H2/Suburban cross.

I agree, I feel as if I have to like it because it is a Studebacker.

I need to redeem myself and post a vintage 4x4.

This is a 1960 Moskvitch 4x4, made in the Soviet Union

How come when I post a picture of a foreign 4x4 I feel "un-American".

So here is an American FWD.

Literally a FWD ( Four Wheel Drive Auto Co.)

Tim, I am here. OK, I actually really dig the old studes. the first red one looked different so I made fun of it . As more pics got posted I liked them more. The heavy duty 4x4 thing is always cool. I can always respect different ideas. I know studes were ahead of their time. push button trannies and such.I once knew an old guy with a silver hawk or a golden hawk or something. it had containers in the trunk that dispensed sand if front of the rear wheels for when it was slick out. Crazy.... As far as the new studebaker goes it take the fugly prize..... with no redemption.

We know you meant no harm and I agree about the new Stude. When I was first introduced to the Studebacker truck (early 80's)
I thought it was kind of ugly but my Dad set me straight and gave me a little history leason on them and since than I really liked them.
It's hard to give a good ribbing on the computer thow. If I was there I would start calling you the "Stude Hater" all in fun of course;).
Than again I'm a construction worker and we tend to thrive on a little fun jabbing:floss:

Aw,you didn`t have to explain. You cleared yourself before. But,if anyone doesn`t like them, you`re an A--,I mean, that`s cool.:cool:I asked where you were so you could give that newfangled funkybugger the ugly award.

New stude gets the fugly award.

Rat, I too am a carpenter/construction worker/furniture maker/whatever it takes to make money/ truck restorer. So I am sarcastic and a smart ass. so you can refer to me as stude hater all you want.:metal:

Tim, You know the internet. You can be taken all wrong at anytime. I wouldn't want to get hit with the ban hammer on my favorite forum.

BTW that air force transport thing looks like someone designed it after going rollerskating. I'm going go out on a limb and say it wouldn't side hill very well.

Heres the oldest I have ever owned personally.... a 1960 Ford F250 4x4. Thing was geared so low it had a max speed of around 50-55mph... when I bought it, it had a 292 V8 that the previous owner had swapped in for whatever reason, taking out the 300 I-6. Not sure what it came with from the factory but that 292 was gutless (half a quart of oil away from dying when it was sold).

That era ford is one of my favorite body styles next to the '67-'72 and '41-'46 Chevys. I don't discriminate much, if at all between the Domestic automakers, or even foreign autos depending on Vintage ;)

Do you have anymore pictures of that beast?

I'm trying to figure out what is going on with that thing.

Was it used for anything inpaticular?

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

Honestly, it was done by my Grandfather, they used it for camping/hunting. The sad thing is, from what I understand, it was originally a Command Car body style WC; http://web.tampabay.rr.com/oldman/Command%20Car.htm . This is the only picture of it that I know of. Basically they stuck a British Car body in place of the original body.
