Couldnt agree more with Dennis. That is one awesome looking engine. Hope you will take all the pretty stuff off before trying to set it in the chassis to avoid any damage.

This is my fuel line set up. I decided to go with a single line filter regulator. I used Jegs braided 6 AN female 2ft. ready made hose. 3/8 and 5/16 tubing with Swagelock compression fittings 2- 3/8 to 6AN males and 2- 5/16 to 6 AN males. At the regulator I used 1- 3/8 and 1- 5/16 Swagelock compresion to compresion fittings and a GM O-ring X 6AN.

No progress on my truck since I been busy finishing off my uncles truck. Cab fire wall and chassi have been painted. We used PPG Atomic Orange (code 83), and PPG 2021 clear. A high gloss on the chassi. We were goin to drop in an LS1 this Sunday but the paint was still sticky, will try again this week end.

I love that color! This is what I was going to paint my 68. I even had a little design figured out that I was going to have airbrushed on a lower corner of the tailgate...... an orange that was split open at the top, with a mushroom cloud coming out of it. :D

Its Ellis Hy-Lux one stage, with wet look hardner added. It sprays really thick eaven when reduced a bit extra, so it will go along ways ended up using about 1/3 of 1 gallon. Sorry for the low- res picture it was taken with my phone.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Update, I started to gather some of the paint supplys I got the clear 2 gallons of Dupont Imron, yes the stuff that got outlawed in Cali. Game plan I will start by removing the front clip to get to the old 350 pulling it out, strip interior, remove cab and bed, clean the frame, paint the frame, then work on the exterior body bringing it down to bare metal, tubbing the rear drop in a Ford 9", install 4 link, paint exterior, then finally drop the LS, wire the new set up, run new wet lines, list goes on and on...This swap has been past due as I was suppose to move on Feb, but escrow got delayed, so i will start the swap after i move hopefully by the end of this month.

Man I miss the old school IMRON. The switch to the low VOC IMRON 5000 was a beating back when it come out in the mid 90's. You almost couldn't make it dry. The IMRON 6000 low VOC base/clear had an awesome cross linking clear (99S, IIRC) that flowed like glass, and fast, too. I think they outlawed that everywhere, though.

The only bad thing you will find with the IMRON is that it is like sanding a rock if you have to go back and color sand it.

Yeah this product was outlawed in Cali the VOC limit is 2.8 this stuff at 3:1 has a VOC of 5.0
