My '70 C10. It was originally a 6 cyl three on the tree. Converted to 350 out of a '70 nova with a TH-400. runs great on rebuilt engine and tranny and 3.73's....bought in october....ran hard and strong....too bad the brakes barely worked all the way home....lol...it was a rough trip! Time to do a front disc swap and put a power booster in it. Can't wait to get it all cleaned up. I'm a ways away from it right now, looking forward too it though!

Here she is.

She isn't as beautiful as when I got her, but pretty close. I'm swapping in a Cad 500 right now, and hope to be stripping, straightening and painting next summer.

sgtjed 11-26-2002 05:34 AM

hey i been thinking of lowering mine with a 2/4 drop got any pics of it dropped?

vfrdude 11-26-2002 11:59 AM

Here ya go....

sgtjed 11-26-2002 12:29 PM

wow!! thats the 2/4 drop? i gotta do that to my 70

vfrdude 11-26-2002 02:09 PM

It's a 3/4 drop - 4" drop springs on the rear, 2.5" drop tubular lower control arms + 1/2" drop spring. I initially had 4" drop spring in the front, but I couldn't get the alignment right, and It was just low enough for the front bumper to scrap on little dips on the freeway.

The combination of the longer springs and the extra inch in ground clearance made all the difference in the world...

Great info, that's what I'm doing to my stepside as well. (Never heard it explained like that) Very nice truck!!
