Also rebuilt all the rear slider windows, precision seals fit really nice, believe me silicon spray will be your best friend AND your fingers and hands will hurt but over all not a bad job, also used crl felt channels and felts they all come in 8 ft sections and fit excellent.4 slider windows overall really not to bad had to weld up the front two slider botton runs they had rust, back two were perfect
|

Nice work
Do you have a link or contact info for the "crl felt channels and felts"? |
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
Hi captain fab, internet info is crlaurence.com the phone is 1800421-6144 they are nation wide they have a store in Vegas also, the channel is called flexible auto channel comes in 96 inch pieces they are 25.30 each you would need two i needed 4, part number is 10g96. the felt also comes in 96 inch pieces,i cut this to fit against the sliding window frames and glass dividers so the window can slide against it. both are identical or very close to factory part number for the felt is ym396,you wont need a bunch of this its 14.25
|
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
Thanks for the link and info. It looks like that is a good source for glass channels and felts. I assume they sell to the general public?
|
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub

Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
4 Attachment(s)
projects never stop, gonna wire up the engine computer harness next, the fire wall was shaved smooth so trying to keep all holes to a minimum
|
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
thanks mcmlxix for the kind words, gonna try and work on it next few months steady if i can
|
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
I just went back and didint see any pics of the shifter you used, any more details?
I like the stock look, and wheels are easy to change. Once you get the truck set and driving around, you can always readdress the wheels if you want. PS: the location of the Sunday car meet changed to Cheyenne and Jones... HERE |
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
I work at ford so the shifter is a 2010 ford expedition floor shift and ford cable adapted to the factory chevy bracket its a overdrive shifter so has perfect space for all the gears, seems to get all the gears i will wire up the shift interlock once i wire the truck its just sitting there rt now,i took the seats back out so i could get to the dash will post up some shifter pic
|
