My 70, on the hand written sales sheet they charged $36 and change for a 350 ci option. I thought wow can't beleive they changed the motor rather then pull in a different truck ( wasn't on spid). Well they didn't , it has the og 307. They told him it had a 350 because he wanted one. The og owner did ask to add a/c and power steer, so they did. He said it wondered so bad it was almost not drivable and they could not fix it. So they went back to manual. We will se what it does when I change to power steer!?!? A/C still in place. The dealer is still hear in town. One other odd story was when he had it's only repaint the yahoo told him they could not get green but they had some red!!! Soo wish I was 3 years earlier!! This truck was totally unmolested until the paint guy. But still solid and complete, happy to have it!!

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
That's great history. Take it back to the dealer and demand the 350 he paid for :)
|
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Yeah if they didn't put it in and charged him
That kinda sucks. Lol. A little late at this point though. |

For got to answer og q, I guess I just laugh it off for $36.90, but there is a real point here also , so .... Maybe I ought to say something
|
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Haha. Yeah go to The dealer and show em. Should at least get a laugh out of it.
|
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Agree - take the PO with you speak with the dealer owner/manager and video the conversation for us! At least get his $36 back.

I started a spreadsheet using pics in this thread, and I haven't seen any color codes with "001", all of them start with "5". I have seen a "501", which is "MED BLUE".
Note: the one with "5??" - I couldn't read the color code on it's SPID plate pic. ;) |

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Right, I'm not sure what the first character or the last two characters mean on each of the codes, but it seems like characters 2, 3 & 4 are the ones that matter. So a paint code of 4(001)BA, I haven't seen, at least not in this thread.
|
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Also, if you notice in that excerpt from my spreadsheet, there are a lot of paint codes with "514", but the text out beside it is different. In this thread, I've seen 514 for "RED", "MEDIUM RED" and "LIGHT RED" :D

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
In the factory assembly manual it says if it has too many options to fit on one sheet to cut one in half and place it adjacent to the first one. Does anyone have one and a half spid sheets??
|
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
No but that's be interesting to see.

1969 Blazer CST AC 4wd SPID
Not too many 1969 SPIDs in this thread Only the 1969's had the "B" in the beginning of the VIN |
Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Never knew about the (b)
thing, pretty cool... |

The first character and the last two characters are additional RPO detail, providing further information about the "functional name" as appropriate. They fell into disuse during the squarebody era and were replaced by either dummy/placeholder characters or ultimately were not printed at all. K |

Nice highly optioned trucks. Red one had everything. Don't see manual throttle very often.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Nice blazer evan. Highly optioned. How's the interior. Being a z84 truck I always like seeing the insides.
