What the heck... I'll never pass up a chance to post pics of my '79 GMC. 15x8's up front, and 15x10's on the rear.

My Mom bought one of those brand new back in the day!!! Gave it to me but I couldn't back it back to Hickory in time to stop me dad from saling it to someone who fled the country shortly after! Truck showed up at a Garage place who contacted them and stated if they payed the storage fees they could have it back! The truck is still at this place, I think!!!

Anthony, You still hanging out here? Whats's new man? I just picked up the long sought after white 87 SWB to go with the black 87 SWB. Will get pictures up soon after my altitude adjustment.

Re: lowered shortbeds on stock wheels?

Just finished my 77 this week.
This truck has stock 7" rally wheels with 275/60-15 tires.
Didn't want to go too low so I used the western chassis 3" drop spindles with stock springs for the front and for the rear I went the shackle and hanger route using the first hole in the shackles because the truck was already close to being level.
I think the previous owner had taken out the overload and one more leaf to level it because it doesn't have an overload leaf and it only has 6 total. I think the truck came with 8 from the factory.
For the record, removing those factory rivets was a pain in the a**!!
If I had it to do over, I would probably remove the bed to replace the hangers since bed removal is fairly easy.

Thanks, Rich!
I haven't drove it much since lowering it since I can't get an alignment until next week but i haven't noticed any problems with them. I've had it full lock left and right and went over some pretty good bumps that I knew of on the local roads to test it. All seems to be ok with the 275's so far.

Well what size are the tire? I have a 77 SWB I'm working on myself and like the fit and stance of your truck. It is beautiful!
