I figured I should update my pics as I have 2 more burbs from the last time I put a pic in this thread...

The med. olive 71' C10 is the first one I got. The Yellow/White 72' C10 I got off of boardmember Cheesewagon a short time ago. This is my daily driver :) The orange 72' C20 is the parts truck I picked up. It is a factory 402/T400, f&r A/C, AM/FM, ect.... This is my donor truck to put the 454 into my 71(which will be done this spring!) I may take the C20 chassis and convert it to 4wd and get it ready for another body. ;)

Progress! 34" goodyears and 4" lift. 454 and auto tranny almost ready.

desertchevy 03-27-2005 12:40 PM

Boy if that's not photoshop then WOW what a dramatic difference just tires and wheels make. Looks good keep it up. Desertchevy

bigger=better 03-28-2005 06:53 PM

Nope no photoshop here. Thanks. Progress is slow. Low budget and NO time. Plus the only tools I have are a pair of vice grips and a flat head screwdriver, :whine: well not really but it feels that slow.

4x4Poet 03-29-2005 01:00 AM

b=b, with the front fender trimming, the 35" tires almost make the 4" lift seem an inch too high. Is the only fender trimming in front of the front tires? IOW, a truncated cup.

Brewski* 03-29-2005 12:41 PM

b=b I see you got your H2 Wheels on there. They look nice. I liked mine but put my truck back to stock height and my new burb is a 1/2 ton. I may lift the burb still I don't know.

bigger=better 03-29-2005 08:22 PM

hey guys,

I did zero trimming, I don't know why the fronts are short. Anybody have any ideas why? I plan on building a wrap around winch bumper. This was a 1/2 ton. I put axles from a '78 camper special under there, no probs.

smokekiki 03-30-2005 09:11 AM

Probably they were rusted out,it is very common to rust in the front corner.Someone trimmed them off.

bwahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got 'er awhile back. She runs, but needs tranny linkage, brake work, driver side hub fixed, and some good tires. It currently has 8.75-16.5 highway tires on 16.5x8.25 steel wheels. I'm gonna put some 16.5x9.75's on it with some old school 12-16.5 mudgrips or some 36" Goodyear Military tires. :metal: Since i've had it i've cleaned it out, re-installed the factory radio, dash, glovebox lid, and seat. I have another auto column in it with a steering wheel also.

The Suburban has an OE AM/FM radio, tilt, have OE cruise but not hooked up let, OE Bucket Seats and Console, Stereo radio in glove box, no air, inside hood release and more. This was my Dads and he bought it new, 8 Track player (new).

Thanks FF, they are 20 x 8 all around. I have some better pictures of the wheels, and of the truck in general. I'm thinking about getting them scanned and throwing them on a thread.

Sorry! I am not as fast in my older age you know.:rolleyes: I had to buy a new camara. My old one went on the blink. I am still trying to learn how to use the new camara as you can tell by some of the pictures.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Thanks Randy. (Not the Randy Cox from Baker Concrete I presume???) I went in blind, but figured for $900 if it was a rust-bucket, at least I could get rid of some parts, but the gamble paid off. The pics shows the worst side, and not much rust...yet. Your's looks like it could climb a telephone pole. Sweet.

Looks like a gooddeal for 900 bucks! Looks very solid. Mine has a hell of a lot more rust. But I got mine for free so im not complaining.
