You certainly managed to find a good clean car for your project. The steel in the floors looks like the day it was built. Must have never been driven in winter. Do they salt the roads there in winter ?

Woah that looks like an intense workout. I think you could do that with a sledge hammer.

i think the most simple way to deaden the chaimber is to drill a few holes through and through at irregulair intervals and weld some rods in to connect the top and bottom

Thanks all. Good timing Jv-
Still workin 6x12 weeks (last one!)... But I managed to get a little more done on the exhaust. The clearance to the spare tire well was too tight here so I broke out the sand bag and panel beater: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9464Large.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9465Large.jpg Here you can also see the turn-down: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9467Large.jpg View from inside. Spare tire mount will be removed and a Miata-size Optima mounted in the well: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9463Large.jpg Tail-pipe hanger tacked up: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9470Large.jpg Mid section mocked up: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9474Large.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9478Large.jpg Up/Over rear: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9480Large.jpg View from front: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9482Large.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...N9473Large.jpg |
Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
looking good! you're almost to the point of *GASP* wiring! lol you're looking for a smaller battery? you ever see the braille ones? i think they have a CF one, but even the standard ones are supposed to be pretty light.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
The exaust looks better than factory. Nice work as always. BTW, I don't envy your work schedule, had my share of that along time ago. I hope they compensate you well brother.

I feel your pain. I had to work 12's seven days a week for six months straight. It wears you down pretty quickly, especially if you have any kind of commute. What sucked the most was that I was on salary and didn't take home any more money for it. :waah: That is a quick way to burn out your people. I hope you can get back to a normal work week soon. |

one thing to consider is using a light powersource when powering up the first time , 12v high amp carbattery tends to melt wires when theres a short , sumtin like a small 6 volt battery and a smal 6 volt light in series (when theres 100% power flowing through the system the lightbulb will burn bright its normal some parts use a little power like the clock and the radio ) like ones you find in big handlights gives you a chance to measure and find the fault before smoke apears |
Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
i got a powerprobe to do my tracing. built in voltmeter, continuity test, and i can throw +/- 12V from it. :metal:
