Re: 1969 Short Wide
I haven't commented on your thread before but I've been following along. You're in that real tedious stage where progress gets slow and it takes more hours than you ever plan for to get it where you want it. Just keep pushing through. End of the year is creeping up fast.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
You been doin' the Lord's work! We put a Repop gate on Yeller, we've dented it twice and are considering finding an OEM gate. Lotsa good work here! I looove my Durablocks but found them too flexy on the long panels, so I taped a 2x4 to the back of my longest one, worked like the bomb! You shooting this at Kyle's?

I have had real good luck with my long board. It works great on the long areas. I hope to shoot it in Kyle's booth. I want to get the inside panels all painted first so all I have left is the final outside painting. But I may end up doing all of it there? It really depends on how busy he is when I'm ready. The real problem for me is I have no where to store the finished panels except on the truck. I have some other stuff going right now that's keeping me from finishing the cab for paint. Always some kind of delay.....:waah: |

This has kept me busy the last week or so:
Still have some work to do but it will work for transporting my panels. It needed a bunch of work. |
Re: 1969 Short Wide
That's how I did it- Did all the Jambs and cut-ins, then trailered the while thing to the booth. Put the Bed on a cart, masked up the cab/doghouse and had at it. Worked pretty good.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I've been really busy on the project the last week or so. (Pictures soon), not much real progress but some is better than none. Wanted to share some trucks I've seen lately at my friend screamingchevypickup's shop:

I almost forgot, there will be another bracket to secure it at the back side near the firewall. I'm sure it won't need it with the beefy size of the main bracket but just in case the vibrations stress the sheet metal we won't get cracked.... |
Re: 1969 Short Wide
Are you going to be able to get your A/c ducting through there?

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Kyle had me a little worried so I double checked the A/C duct routing. A little tight with the cluster installed, but I believe it will work good.
