Haha thanks man, this was the first time I took it more than an hour out of town, and it ran awesome! It was a little sluggish in the higher altitude going up the steeper parts of the mountains, but I wasn't disappointed since it's 350 is mostly stock apart from an edelbrock intake and 3" exhaust.

88bagedntaged, you don't have to clip your frame to convert it to a 4wd. My 76 I have was a 2wd and I converted it to a 4wd. It could save yo a lot of work not cutting your frame.

So, I've been watching the thread for a while. I guess I can join in, huh?

Here's mine. It's an '88 Centurion Conversion. My dad bought it brand new. He had a '75 regular cab dually before this one. Before taking delivery of the truck in August of '88, we went to the Centurion shop in Michigan and actually saw the truck in progress on the line. It was delivered in August of '88 with 12 miles on the odometer. It has 80,000 now, but unfortunately it's condition makes it look more like 180,000. When I was in high school, I kept the truck cleaned and waxed for my dad. My payment for the detailing was to be allowed to take the truck out on the weekends sometimes. After I went off to college, my dad didn't pick up the slack and the truck quickly went downhill. The paint is shot and the dash pad is history. It's in need of a lot of restoration work. After going through 3 transmissions, my dad swapped in a 5-speed about 10 years ago.

I have the parts to do the '89-'91 GMC grille swap. All except for the headlights. I was going to go with Celebrity Eurosport headlights when I bought all the parts, but now that we can get the clear conversion lights that take the capsule bulbs, I think I'll go that route. I want to get rid of all the conversion doo-dads and move the airhorns under the hood. A 6/8 static drop, some 19" or 22" semi wheels and a paint job are about as far as I want to go with this one for mods.

This is my dad's old '75 dually. I saw it just a few months ago and snapped these shots. 22 years after my dad got rid of it, it's still on the road. It's always good to see.

Nice pics! Those are some clean trucks! None of ours look that clean up here unless they were brought up from your area.

I am extremely thankful to be living in Texas, that's for sure. It's nice not having to worry about rust.

Nice Trucks! What are your plans for the Crew?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

It has a burgundy interior right now. I'd like to swap it to gray and swap in some GMT-400 bucket seats and console in the front and bench in the rear. I'd like a full array of AutoMeter Phantom white face gauges mounted behind the dash bezel. Beyond that, no big plans for the interior. Just clean it up and make it nice.

Outside, the thing HAS to go down. I don't need it to lay out, but it needs to be low. A nice 5/7 or 6/8 static drop would suit me just fine. The running boards and TV antenna need to go away along with the opera lights on the b- and c-pillars. I'll move the horns off the roof and put them under the hood. The grille guard will be gone and I have an '89-'91 GMC grille update for it. Ditch the emblems and fill in all the excess holes from the conversion crap. Maybe some GMT-400 cab clearance lights for the lower profile. Lose the step bumper in favor of a rollpan. I'd like the LED inserts for the stock taillights. The only real custom bodywork I might do would be to shave the tailgate handle and fill in the center, but I've also considered shaving it and going with a Blazer-style center tailgate insert.

This is the paint scheme I have in mind...

The blue in the 2-tone would be the same blue as on my '91.

It really all sounds like a lot when you list it out like that, but really, it's not. I just don't have any spare cash to devote to the project right now. :(

Nice trucks BADGMC like the crew cab looks like a solid place to start from. I really am loving the blue crew with the sleeper and the drop that thing is super straight and clean looks showroom fresh. I did notice it has updated cab lights from a 88-98 style truck very cool update.
