Hi Guy's,
I'm new here and just browsing through the site and found this thread. I thought I would post some pic's of a truck my shop just finished. It's a 70 C10 2 wheel drive that we done a custom build on. The theme we went with is a 67 corvette look. The hood is hand built all steel including the corvette scoop. The front roll pan and spoiler are also all hand built steel. We also hand built a corvette style dash. The truck is not finished yet, but we still entered it in the Cleveland Piston Power Hot Rod show just to get some feed back. The truck was a big hit with the Judges and the crowd. I was not going to have the truck judged because it was not completed, but one of the iSCA judges seen it and entered it for me. I was totally surprised when it won best in class. Did not expect that at all. Any way have a look and let me know what you think.

I'm liking that color under the lights! I like the split rear bumper idea too. Nice work! You should create a build thread and post a lot more pictures of your work. Even if it's more of a shop build than a truck specific build, there are a lot of people who would like to see more of your work.

Welcome to the site, a very nice well thought out build on the shop truck, front to back including big block fits together very well, not all builds turn out as attractive as a person originally aims for ...but your did and can see it will get nothing but better, got some skills John. Keep us posted on the build, we will be waiting to see more.

Thanks everyone for the kind welcome. When I get back to the shop computer, I will post some more pic's of the different things we modded on the truck. knomadd, I think I will start another thread and post pic's to show how we did some of the different things on the truck. You guy's will probably pick up (no pun intended) on some of the more discrete mods we have incorporated in the build. If you look close at the pic's you can see the side marker lights are flush now. We did this using 78 Trans Am marker lights. This is one of the many modifications and visual enhancements we made. Another is the gas fill cap. We used a roll lock cap and fabbed a steel piece to mount it on the cab to make it look factory. There are several little things like that all over the truck, and we had guy's study the truck for hours to try to find them all. The rear bumpers are made from two 68 Camaro front bumpers. We still need to finish under the hood and interior as well as put the custom built polished stainless side pipes on yet. I think I am going to bag it too so that I can get the stance right. Currently we just lowered it about 3 inches and it still is not right. This truck took us about 3,000 combined man hours to get this far and we still have a ways to go, but we are close. Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome and kind comments.

Don, I see the radio and other circuits look functional, but the bulkhead connector is empty...care to explain? :D

We still need to install the wiring under the hood yet. The dash actually is not functional yet and will need to came back out to finish.

A-ha! :-)

I do like the corvette-inspired lower turn signals on the air dam, a lot like the 63-67s on either side of the low, wide grille.

I also notice it looks like when you smoothed the wire gutter you did the usual symmetrical corner on the passenger side...then reattached the stock fiberglass heater housing anyway! In order to accomplish that I guess you had to trim down the round "foot" behind the fan and re-glass in the ring that holds the seal? If I'm right (and if my eyesight hasn't started going) then that was a nice move that seems like "I should have thought of that" :D

Do you have a build thread here for it yet?

I will note, that this is his first purchase outside of imports and front wheel drives. This is his first full-size Chevy and first American muscle.

My 72 Chevy with my 78 Freightliner, the first year of the Big Cam, this one had the recall on the cam followers, also one of the first that had just the Freightline logo, previous years were White Freightliner.
