Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
Thanks for the update. And for all the legwork. Do you happen to know about the chrome version? I'm wanting those in 20" with the staggered offsets. Thanks again!

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
ok 20x10 all the way around
basic mods front 1/4 spacer and longer studs rear 1.25 inch spacer (for look only) machined the center of the front wheel larger(don't really know if that helped) machied the rotor where the dust cap is (machied down to the race) turning problems......none dust cap used......no if i would have had the rotor machined down and machined thiner, as i seen someone else do no spacer would have been needed center cap moded..no spindel type western chassie 2.5 mod the spindal.....no looked bad ass.....................................................YES http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n/DSC09103.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n/DSC09107.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n/DSC09106.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n/DSC09104.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n/DSC09102.jpg |

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
I love these wheels. But what gets me is that wheels arent cheap. Why can't these manufactorers get up outta chair walk over and slap one on a truck until they work? IMO Boss are the worst

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
Yeah, actually I talked to the SE regional manager again this morning. He said that the new ETA is the last week in August. Which probably means 2 week of Sept. He did tell me that Boss is opening up the center bore, slightly changing the cap design and thickening up the mounting pad. He said they are being specifically refitted to work on our trucks. Woo Hoo!!!

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
I am going to get them out of Atl. but once the new design is available I hope to be able to get several sets. I use to have a shop in B'ham that specialized in custom wheels and Hot Rod Rice so I still have accounts with several companies in the business.
I'll keep you updated. |

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
The backspacing will change on a few of the wider applications...i.e x10". That's why I recommended trying to get hands on the old style ones for the rears because they are a bit "deeper". The narrower will have the same backspacing, but the lip of the wheel will be smaller because the center of the wheel will be moved outward to compensate for the additional mounting pad thickness.
This information is subject to change as this is being relayed second hand. Cheers,, Ed |

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
Yeah Im gonna wait and see if these wheels get retooled before buying, I spoke with the salesman and he said that on my 1996 c1500 the 20x 8.5 will work with center cap if I run a 1/4 in spacer Is there any new info from boss about these wheels? I have been looking for a wheel similar to this for months in 5x5 and have been unable to find something I like,
can you guys suggest some similar style wheels that will tuck, Im just getting frustrated with this whole wheel thing |
