Thanks for the compliments! I am still slowly making progress. Still picking away at rust repair and firewall smoothing with help from a friend. Also received my totally stainless complete body bolt kit, new body mount kit from lmc, and two new reproduction bedsides since mine werent as clean as I thought they were.

Re: ***Dream Truck Build*** 72 swb fleet with a cummins and one tons

Thanks dieselwrencher! I just put the cab and bed back on the chassis and it's so nice to see it going back together even though I know it will be coming back apart.

I need to mock up tcase shifter, fuel door, linkages and decide on Intercooler. I've also decided its way too tall and need to look into options for lowering it without getting rid of crossover steering and keeping oil pan away from the diff. Any ideas? Link it and coilovers, bags, custom leafs... Also need ideas for Intercooler

With the drop pitman arm you will need drop drag link with the 6" lift. I sheared off the studs on the lift block for the steering arm. the parts available from super lift.

Any new updates ?

How are those "totally stainless" bolts working out ?

Re: ***Dream Truck Build*** 72 swb fleet with a cummins and one tons

Yea I'm still making progress. Wheels and tires are here and waiting on my new custom leafs from offroad design. Finishing up some other suspension stuff like towing bags and traction bars. Once I'm happy with suspension I'll take it all back apart to start body work.

Totally stainless is awesome, highly recommend them!

Any wheel and tire pics ?
You were going 20x12ish were'nt you ?

Yea I'll post some pics with wheels and tires. My goal is to fit in my garage so under 7'. Currently I have 20x12 weld cheyennes and new 33s. I did not care for the stance of a 6" lift with 33s so I've ordered ord 4" progressive rate custom leafs and we'll see how it looks.

Awesome build !!!! That really will be a "Dream Truck" 72 swb 4x4 with a cummins and 1 ton running gear !!!! Love it.....

Watch the height though..... Here's a picture of mine with a 2-1/2" lift on 33"
tires and a 7' door. I had a 6'6" door and had to put in the 7'..... and it's close !!!

Subscribed! I'm doing a 1972 lwb with a 97 Cummins swap! I just read your build now I'm caught up, I really like that frame boxing :metal: did you do that on a wet table or plasma table? I want to box mine pretty much front to back that why I ask

Re: ***Dream Truck Build*** 72 swb fleet with a cummins and one tons

Young.gun- most of my brackets and plates were cut out on a torchmate table. Diy4x.com makes frame boxing plates for 73-87 and when I last spoke to them they were possibly going to make plates for 67-72. I need to update this thread! I've got lots of update! Thanks for checking in.

Man the truck looks amazing. I'm currently doing a similar swap. I have a 68 c-30. mines staying 2 wheel drive but I am having motor mounting issues. I see you have had a lot of questions about yours. sorry if I asked something some one else already has but I see you used second gen mounts. I believe I will have to do the same in order to keep it low in the engine bay. I was wondering if you had any close up shots of the mount and how you did it in your frame? I may copy your idea if that's aright. Awesome build hope mine turns out half as good as yours is.
