Re: Chopped Trucks
Looks like it is chopped about 5 inches.

Re: Chopped Trucks
Somehow that truck just doesn't work for me. It has a lot of nice work on it but the paint, the chop, and the wheels all together just don't look right. Maybe someone with $35K will disagree with me and take it home.

Still buy that truck, take it a thousand miles or more from where it calls home base and you stand a pretty good chance of winning a few awards over the next rod run/car show/cruise night season. As far as I know it has never been in big time show coverage, never been featured in a magazine and is not so connected to the ower nationally that you always get the "hey you are the guy who bought _______'s old truck. The kind of thing you would get if you bought Youngrodder's truck. Every car freak an truck guy in the world knows that truck and it will be connected to him no matter who might own it. |

Re: Chopped Trucks
That shot of the two tone yellow one in post 130 looks like some of the indoor car show photos I took 15 years ago. Too much flash and the florescent lights play havoc with the photo.
Nice truck that needs a less of a stuck in the 90's paint job. |
Re: Chopped Trucks
In my opinion an AD truck is not easy to two-tone and make it look right. There's not a crease or line to paint to.

I found this one today while looking though an album of photos from the 1973 NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Tulsa. I remember seeing it and taking a couple of photos.
It was one of four or five 1948 Chev and GMC trucks at the 73 Nationals including my 48. |
Re: Chopped Trucks
WOW, never saw that one before!

Re: Chopped Trucks
Is that grass growing on the top?
|
Re: Chopped Trucks
I'm not sure, Admittedly we did some strange things in 1973 and it could be grass or it could be something thrown up there for someone to sit or lay on. There weren't that many cars at the event by today's standards but the count was mind boggling by 1973 standards. I think I probably took 7 or 8 rolls of 26 photos with my instamatic at the event and that was a lot of photos to take and have developed in 1973.

Re: Chopped Trucks
My buddy would absolutely love that burb with the hard chop. He would walk around showing photos he printed of it for days.
