And on today’s agenda, windows. Started with the drivers door and be damned if there wasn’t a regulator even in there so I have one of those on order. But moving to the other three, converting the out of date 3 wire motors to OBS truck motors. Have to use to relays to reverse polarity but it all works and the power no longer comes through the switches. And anyone that’s ever wondered how useful a smart TV is in the garage, I mirrored my phone to it and had a great wiring diagram while I stood there

And today’s update. I’m getting big girl into true daily driver form and then hopefully I can get some paint on her. Upper balljoints were screwed, appears to be physical contact or “clearancing” for the wheels that were on it before. Speaking of screwed, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen this screwy spacer/but retainer. Tried a set of springs and they say it on the bump stops so I had to put the originals back in but with a little cutting.
The real problem is it looks nasty sitting on the bump stops and I have everything to do air ride on the front also.
But I really wanna stay static on the front so I don’t have to ever worry about having no steering if I lose a front bag.

Pretty well. Been trying to take it instead of the truck. At summit right now waiting on wiring supplies. Installing all new wiring from the inside to the outside for the headlights.

Well the only original wiring for the headlights that is left is the power wire to the dimmer switch and the high beam indicator.

Well look at all those lights, it’s like a scene out of the 70s. So my new used passenger regulator came in this week and wouldn’t you know I found something when I pulled the door panel. The drivers side regulator was laying in the bottom of the door to figure. Well atleast now both the front t regulators are all clean and lubed up. After this I’m going to rebuild some of the window switches so each will work from their own door as well as the drivers door

So I enjoyed most of my long weekend but had to get some stuff done. Last night I made an amp rack out of an old door panel for the c10 so I could rob the mini clarion amp. Then today I did all the fabbing on my center console. I’ll order some speaker grilles and get it put in when they arrive. I also put two holes in the wood incase I want to add power ports. I’m going to shoot for 5-7 speakers in the car. I’m thinking possibly two 4”s under the dash powered just by the head unit. The 6x9s in the package tray, the 5.25s in the console, and a single 6x9 on the top of the dash will be run by an amp.

I lied. I went into my parts room before ordering grilles and I found a box with brand new Orion speakers so there ya go

Well hell. I messed with the stereo a little today and got the sub hooked up, nothing cool to look at. But I got curious tonight, let’s just say if the rest of the car blocks out as flat then I have no choice but to paint it black.

But the blue does look good and I wouldn’t have to take it apart to jamb it out.

Black is SOOoooo hard to keep clean.

My son's factory color is charcoal frost metallic. Is that what yours was too? It's a real dark blueish color.

No Huron blue. Almost silver

Just popped over here after reading about your S15. This car is coming together nicely. Was glad to see the paint come off the door handles since those siamesed handles are such a distinguishing feature. I vote for the blue. Was black the stock color for the top? That blue, with a black top, and your gray wheels? Or yeah. Plus, you sold me on putting a big screen in my garage. So frustrating trying to look at a phone sized screen when you're trying to figure something out.

I think you may have looked at a picture at the wrong angle, door handles have never been painted. The factory color on the whole car was the blue. And the tv is useful as hell, but also when it’s just me I play videos in the background and just listen

Well I finally got rid of that heat soaking sheet metal intake. Found me a good deal on an LS2 intake, throttle body, fuel rails, and even good injectors for only $420 to my door.(already had a new vette pedal) Needless to say if you aren’t up to date on pricing that’s stealing, but it did come from the Netherlands so sometimes looking or being patient pays off. Haven’t test drove it because of how late it is since I waited till dark to start. I can say that just free revving it, it sounded like the serpentine belt slipped, that’s how crisp and quick the throttle response is now.
Only part that sucks is I had my harness setup to run the injector connectors to the inside of the rails so the harness doesn’t sit as clean as I’d like but I built the car to drive so whatever

Y’all get garbage pictures today. But last night idling in the garage it squeaked on me. I knew that sound unfortunately so after letting it run a little while today with it not making a sound I went ahead and made the call.
As you can tell by yesterday’s log it was making good oil pressure.

Was this just a used engine that had not been gone through? Seems like possibly loose clearances.

Well fellas check out the sketchy. Hoist wasn’t long enough to get the engine all the way in so I had to turn it sideways and sit it on the frame rails, then slide the arm out way too far to be safe/stable. Now on to the real issue, the most difficult broken exhaust bolts I’ve ever had to fight but I discovered a new technique. Slide a washer over the bolt and weld it all the way around, then weld a nut to that giving a lot more contact area than just a weld in the center of a nut
