Looks really good. One of the nicest I've seen.

Very NICE!

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Hey thanks for the comments guys. I grabbed the wrong camera yesterday. Pics are BIG.
Anyhow. The trim rings on the back, they'll be going. I never had time to paint the rear rims. I didn't want to put my NOS trim on them only for pics.
Stay tuned for more pics later today. Black rims are going on. I just hope the rain stops so I can pull it outside.

How's the AirPod? Got enough air for you?

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Keith, not really knowing from one system to another. I guess it works well. I can get 1.5 air up's. The compressor's don't bother me. I like lowrider sounds.:smoke: The run time to fill seems quick. I need to get real familiar with the system. It's very user friendly.

Here are the black rim pics. Like I said, No trim yet. I would like feed back first.

Driverside pics are Astro van centers.

Passenger pics are late model centers. I had a couple more of those, but they came out poorly.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

This pic is showing the cool wing label. I asked them to line the wings with the valve stem. This is the closest one. They're Firestone Indy 500's.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...S/IMG_1561.jpg

The old fonts are 235/60/15...New, 215/70/15.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...S/IMG_1562.jpg

Old rears, 255/60/15...New, 275/60/15. With the new rear tires, aired out on drivers side I can stick a finger between the rubber & well. Passenger, about a finger.5...

Here is my solution for the day for my exhaust. I kinda like the idea, just needs refinement. It's louder and more rumble...That's it for today.

I left a pic out. The 275/255 rear tire comparison.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Looks good. FYI it is possible to run the exhaust over the rear when aired out if you are not running a step notch. My rear diff touches the floor and I have 2.5" exhaust exiting out the back.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

HRHOMI, I will at some point in the future get exhaust, over the rear tails. This is just to get by for now.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Really like the black rims.

Honestly think I'd have to see the caps to decide...both look good.

I do vote trim rings though. (small style of course) It's the last bit needed to set it off...

That or a set of 20's

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

I like the passenger side caps more.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Charlie,... I'm still a silver ralley fan. (The only color in my mind) That's just me though.
I vote silver, late model c10 caps, and small trim rings.

70k52wd 05-28-2009 07:55 AM

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

I'm so use to seeing silver rallys. The black looks odd to me. It's black over load. Kinda bummed. Thought it would look better than that.
I do like the Astro caps and black, they need trim, bad. But, I think I like the silver and 1500 caps best over all.
Just trying something different.

Jon, 20's. One day. I just like rallys. I had to play around.

For sale: black rally rim set.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

O.K. I had to pop the trim on the black rims. They look 100% better.

I'm also wondering if maybe having the white letters out, if that would look too over the top. Or is that a thumbs up idea?

I like both center caps with the trim rings. I think I'll run like this for a while, switch caps back and fourth. Some things have to grow on you.
And I don't want to change the tires all around. Not yet anyways.

Oh, and has anyone noticed the silver painted slots? The rims really look better in person.

Wow, everyone's got an opinion....but that was a lil brutal...

He did have the silver rallys on if you check back a page. I personally like the black better...but I can imagine how tight his blazer would be with some chromed or polished 20's

lolife99 05-28-2009 08:35 PM

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Leave the white letters in.
I'd just scuff the black wheels and paint them silver if you decide to switch. I wouldn't dismount them.
Actually do what you want. It's your truck. I'm just trying to get it the way I like it, so I can buy it off of you, for a steal. (J/K)

You know,... a quick fix for the wheel dilema would be to buy some 20's from Billet Specialties.

Let me see,... which ones do I,... I mean,... you,... want to buy,...

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

I personally really like the look of the rims with the rings and no letters out. I like white letters out with some trucks but not yours...

20's would be even better though

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Bagged74, no worries, that's funny. I like the silver also.

Jon, I like them black also. I guess it's just our opinion.

Keith, I'll put you in my will. That's the best I can do.
Very funny though.

Oh, and I'd paint the black rims silver. I put a ton of paint on them. They'll paint crack if I put more on them. The silver set is the nicer set also. No biggie, I have a tire machine and balance I can use.

Just went back to look at the silver rallys and noticed this. Did I miss something or is this caliper on the wrong side??putting the bleeder on the bottom??

Bagged74, Yeah, I ran out of coffee that day.:mm: Believe me, that was the least stupid thing I did that day. All's well now. Good eye.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"

Well, between what VetVette said and what the diagnoses points to. I will be removing the Gas tank again. Apparently I may have a open ground issue. I get to buy a multimeter for the shop. Never had one before.:metal:

I took a couple more outside pics before I pull the tank. I'm liking the black rims. I think it looks Gooood.:dig:
I have a couple of stock caps. I like that look also. I actually have 4. 2 have holes in them though. Oh yea, I forgot, they made Blazers in 4 wheel drive also.
