Painted the bottom of the cab and mounted it on the frame for the last time! Paint is Inferno Red Metallic with 3 coats of clear ( camera makes it look more orange than dark red). I'm super happy how it turned out.

Installed the steering column and moved it forward about 3" to give the driver a little more room. Also did a little work on the headers to get them to clear the steering shaft and welded up some 3" exhaust pipe to feed the Jones Chambered Mufflers. Oh, and changed the throttle linkage over to a cable pedal.

It's been a long time since I updated this. Today I painted the top Pure White and epoxy primed some other parts. You may notice I installed a brake booster & master along with gauges and header wrap. Getting close to starting this thing up!

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
So glad I found this build, I've been tossing the idea of doing a gasser build with my 68, but hadn't seen anyone try it yet. I love it and I think you just sold me on the idea.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
I have both a factory ifs front end and a straight axle out of a mid 40s Chevy truck. My truck was originally a 4x4 K20 so the straight axle will be pretty easy to do and I believe that is the route I'm heading in, but I'm sure the ifs would be a lot nicer to drive.

Getting a little closer to being done. Covered the inside door panels with copies from old drag racing magazines to match the headliner.
