I need to go shopping, I keep looking at those bumper guards and they keep looking cooler and cooler, maybe I'll go buy some blue paint and go to town on my bumper guards but I think I'm going to do a little bit of a twist and actually paint my bumper black :metal: since afterall my color combo is pretty much black and blue.

Any updates on the truck?

That would look sick! :metal: If i didnt love chrome as much as I do i would paint my bumpers

So nothing has happened for a while on the truck. been busy with finishing up classes. And now just signed the paperwork for a new house and graduation really close There will not be any updates till after all is done so most likely towards end of month. But I made sure the new place has a good size garage and well its big enough for 2 so I`m excited for some long nights of wrench turning in the near future. Who knows the project might take a different turn and a deeper dive into the pockets with more room to work.

Just got plenty of parts and believe it or not 5 250 six cylinders. supposedly 3 run and 2 dont even if none of them run between all 5 and the parts i have i can build 2 or 3. also purchased some chrome engine pieces and vent windows and frames as well as several other parts when i pick them all up next week I will post pictures. This truck needs to run again!

I agree!! Oh wait, maybe I should get mine running again too  sounds like you've made some really good scores here lately man, can't wait to see all the goodies you have!

Re: Lil Red, 1984 c10 shortbed barn find mild custom build

Yes! get that motor straightened out ASAP.

So I made the mistake of looking at parts and all sorts of goodies for the 250 for when i pick em up and start rebuilding one. I happened across some information about turbo charging one :metal: . If Anyone one has some input that would great!

I could not really find a general consensus on how to do this. Any ideas on best turbo for the job and would i need to worry about a more "turbo friendly" cam vs. stock. I was thinking a blow through setup would be best. If i could figure out a reasonable turbo setup seeing as i am building the motor i am in the perfect position to get correct internal parts.

Re: Lil Red, 1984 c10 shortbed barn find mild custom build

Um......a turbo 250 would be wicked!!! I hope someone chimes in, i'm sure it would have to be a custom fab up job just due to how our trucks are I could be wrong

Cam wise I would say go with a turbo friendly one for the fact it wouldn't be a pain to "control" and you wouldn't have to worry about a surge but again only my opinion I wish you luck on this journey my friend! :metal:

here is a link to the thread about turbo charging one of the 250s. If anyone is interested or maybe can help out! ;) covered some ground but plenty to go. can`t wait to pick up the motors and tear into this.

Re: Lil Red, 1984 c10 shortbed barn find mild custom build

Holy cow! 2013 was last time I posted?!

I hope everyone has been doing good and working on those trucks!

Well the truck has been sitting in the same spot since then up until a few days ago. I moved around a lot and bounced around different jobs and got married! Even moving into a new house house all we had was a carport. Due to city laws I couldn't keep my truck at my house and work on it. So I have been looking for a garage for a while now and finally found one.
Which means work can resume on Lil` Red after 5 years! I am ashamed of myself really.
I will post some pics shortly because everyone like pictures!

Here is where the truck has been sitting. I lost the key for it so it was interesting getting on the trailer but we managed. Hauled it about 4 hours to North Little Rock.
