Looks great , I contemplated the same thing ... Side marker , tail light , in bed , top of bed you know all the options so I just opted out to just put a fuel filler door off 98 Chevy truck on mine . Not to change subject but I talked to Stan at ECE and he claimed the guy that was building the tail lights for him got sick and was not building them anymore . I ordered a pair from spaghetti enterprises for 200 but only have 64 LED and not 156 like yours . Let me know if you have a contact to jmac05

Re: Tail light fuel filler

Where you put the filler depends not only on what you want for the looks of the truck but also how you use the truck. For a pure show truck trap door in the bed works pretty good but it isn't practical for someone who still uses the truck as a truck. The taillight filler handles that aspect to a degree as it hides the filler or filler door and gets it out of the bed. For me it isn't practical on my 71 3/4 ton as I have a 10-1/2 ft camper that we intend to use quite a bit next year. I'll go with a door off a donor vehicle placed behind the left rear wheel. Not the greatest looking setup but the most practical for me.

Thanks for the info!
Jmac05 is now Jmac0585. He is co-owner of Legacy Electronics Inc in
San Clemente, CA. I don't have his number though, and he hasn't been on here since march.

Nothing that helps much. He has been working on it but was just informed of an upcoming audit at work, so he's held up until that's over with. If it's not one thing it's another.

Hi guys,
I am the engineer who is working with Wynne on the gas filler door.

As Wynne said, I have been exceptionally busy at work. However, I expect to have our first proto within the next couple of weeks.

If everything fits and works as we intent, parts could be close behind.

I will give you a bit of an insight into what we are working on.
We are looking to have a unit that will install in a finished truck without the need to repaint.

Also, instead of trying to work with the existing light pan, we are looking at using an aluminum plate that will hinge into the filler plate body.
I understand some of you have been waiting on one of these for a very long time and I have only been involved for a couple months but I think you will be pleased with the final product.

Cheers!
Mickm

PERFEC. And very timely for my build. One request: if there is anyway to retain the standard 1157 taillight bulb that would be great. I would prefer not to run leds.
