I am getting closer on mine. Ran fuel lines today. Curious if you have any close up on the motor mounts?

Should be mocking up a factory C4 bar next week to see how it fits... then we'll go from there!

I will also take some pics of the mounts for you tomorrow... along with the turbos!:metal:

Hey Nathan, Heads up on doing the rest of the frame and front suspension. Still need brakes and brake pump and fuel cell. Looks more like late Feb or March. Can't pull the body till the wheels clearence is set up in the rear and the front.

Nate,
Are you gonna be mocking up a C4 sway bar for your DM C4?
I'd like to see that too so I could use that on mine if possible.

Spent a couple more hours on the truck today...

Here's some pics of the motor mounts and how they adapt to the LS engine. Also some clearance pics... It is a tight fit around the rack and pinion... but it does clear everything.

Shaved the pass. side fender (didn't have the time to strip the paint off it). Also set the core support and hood in place... then pulled out the cut-off wheel and sliced the hood apart. I will be sliding the whole skin back around 2 inches and then I will pie-cut it a small amount, and then lay the front edge back. I always liked the look of the 67-68 hoods... so this one will be sleek with some subtle changes. I will also be changing up the ridge that runs down the hood... and doing something that flows with my dash idea. Hopefully we'll see that take shape in the next few weeks.

Looks very cool. I can't wait to see the hood. :metal:

Wheels are 20x8.5 with an 18mm offset (that's between a 5.25 and 5.5" backspacing).

Tires are 255 35 20

Thanks for the kind words!

Hey Nathan, How long can you get away with leaving the fenders in bare metal? I started striping the paint off my cab and was going to leave them "bare", but wasn't sure how long before the rust. Could you get away with spraying a little clear coat, or epoxy primer? Thanks, Truck looks Great as Always.

It's pretty dry out here so they can go for a while (sometimes!). I just make sure I wipe them down with wax and grease remover when I am done working on it. I like the bare metal look, so I won't spray em with epoxy until I have to!

Get w/ Kevin(Rokcrln). He uses some stuff that is supposed to keep it from rusting for a looong time. He left his tube frame bare for like 2 years or something  like that...

Thanks for the help, I love the bare metal, and just wanted to keep it like that until it's time for the body shop.

I also make sure I don't touch the metal with my bare hands... and yell at anyone else that does!

You'd be amazed at how many people can't resist touching something shiny!

I did my wheel-tubs (mini-tubs) & they're still in bare steel here in DFW (in the garage). I wipe them down w/some denatured alcohol & keep them closer to the house end of the garage vs. the door end. Worked so far (since November). It's too cold/humid for now.
