Most panels (from what I have found) are not exact. I had to trim the lower bed side panel in a few spots to make it work..... The rear corner sections had to be completely cut off. |

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild
Evowerks awesome work nice to see another Long Island guy saving one of these trucks not to many around here. A friend of mine Tom lives in Northport he had a bunch of these trucks hes got a 80's k20 now with a flat bed hes a welder I don't know if you ever seen him around.I'm in the process of restoring my 78 k20. Just finally got the last piece I been searching for over 2 years a rust free dual tank round cap gas door bed. Almost ready for paint does your friend still do media blasting? I have been looking for a place that's good on the island.

Sorry for the delayed response....I tend to get involved in other projects when the weather gets nice. I managed to find some time to restore the grill and headlight bezels. I should have taken some before pics of the grille. It was in about the same shape as the spare grille that I have in the background. I'll post more pics as progress develops......Thanks for everyone’s interest in my build.

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild
Enjoying the build. Like the old tri carb set up. Reminds me of the tri carbs on my first 40 ford coupe with a 48 merc flathead. Dig the steelies. I have some NOS caps but not able to find some 6 Lugers for the 80 K10. Looking forward to tracking your progress. Very nice.

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild
This is a great thread. It gives me encouragement to be patient with my build. I have a '75 K25 Sierra Grande that has an '86 bed on it. Kinda funny. I'm subscribed so I'll keep watching. Take care.

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild
What a fantastic GMC restoration. I don't know how I've missed it. Beautiful truck, I love that it is original to your family, I have one 10 yrs newer that hasn't left the family. ;)
