Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build
DLoE - see you are in my neck of the woods - who did the machine work on the engine? Did they do the entire overhaul on it?
|
Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build
Santa Ana Speed Shop 714-835-6424 (Santa Ana,CA)did the whole overhaul, I supplied all the Parts and they did all the machine work and assembly, once I'm up and running I will take it back to them and they can dial it in.

When I bent mine for my Tempest, I did a coat hanger first. Then it was bend to approximate the coat hanger, check it against the engine, bend a little more... repeat. I ran fuel line and vacuum advance line side by side like that on that OHC6 230 of mine. You have really got that motor looking good man!! |
Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build

Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build
Hey I just noticed your fuel line goes from steel line to hose right over your exhaust manifold.
Even though you probably have 2-3" between them, are you going to slide a small heat shield in between? |
Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build
beutiful engine.i really like the sixes, had a 68 panel truck with 4barrel and headers was a fun truck to drive.still hvae all of the parts and a 250 sitting on the staqnd waiting for a project. sometimes i think about taking my 350 out of the 64 and running the six . where abouts in orange do you live? i lived there for 40 years
|
Re: DLoE's Dropmembered 65 StepSiDe Build
Hey Mcmurphy, I don't think I'll need it, the picture is a little deceaving, the fuel line is like 3-4 inches away .. I'll keep a eye on it once I fire that badboy up. Gimmy- I live by the orange circle on the other side of the 55.
