I never did mark the spindle location to ground, so I'm gonna slide the torsion frontend back on to get a measurement, no biggie...

UNLESS SOMEONE HERE CAN CONFIRM THE FRONT TWO ARE CORRECT ??

Not much progress, but some is better than none .....

Front A-arms diassembled and off to coating. Wasn't planning on coating the A-arms, but since the guy is just right across the parking lot, and I threw them with a bunch of other parts from a customer build.

Weld the rings in and weld/smooth out spotweld drill marks (from removing the super tall, drop restricting, bump stop mounts)....then off to coating !

Cool :metal:

Did you happen to measure the ID after you welded them to see if they shrunk any? That is something I have been wondering about when I do mine.

what is the point of the 88-98 lower balljoint?

Captainfab 01-03-2013 02:34 AM

Re: '62 GMC Suburban "Rust"oration, Patina Build.....

You have to use the '88-'98 lower ball joint if you are going to run the '88-'98 spindles and the factory style 6 lug rotors. Most guys that use these conversion parts, use a '67-'72 C20 lower control arm. But Chief wanted to use the '73-'87 control arms with the rubber bushings, so this is how to make that happen. I will be doing the same thing on my '66 Burb. The Chief just beat me to it.

Unfortunately, it has !

The only new thing lately is the A-arms have been coated a satin chassis black.

Dude! I haven't been on the forum for quite a while. This is the first time I saw your build. Excited to see what you're doing with this thing. It might even be a little motivation for me. Hopefully we can get these burbs back together and on the road soon.

And most Importantly, I finally had the extra $$ to have the pallet of Suburban seats shipped to me from OKC !!!

I used "Uship" to get some quotes, and it was actually pretty reasonable !!

Should see them within 5 business days, cant wait to get them.

Rocktonka took the time to make sure they were well wrapped...
