I probably should have chose a different category but it seemed to fit best since I still have some work to be done.

Re: She is back.

Got a few goodies for the burb. I picked up a set of 5" drop springs for the rear and a old skool Kenwood KRC 5001 shaft style stereo 50 watts x4. I hope these spring with the 2" block bring the rear a little closer to the ground. The springs that are on there were bought new but second hand I am still not convinced they were a 4" spring. I should be good since we notched the rear. Since it is my daily I got to find time to get them swapped when we aren't at the lake.

Re: She is back.

The burb has been in the shop the last few days and we have solved the vibration in the drive line. The shop that installed the 700r4 and had the driveshaft cut down shortened it too much. We lengthened the front drive shaft an inch and also installed 4 degree shims to correct pinion angle. They changed the spider and axel gears and the right side axel and bearing. I also determined I already have 3.73's. The place that did the initial work told me I had 2.8??? some thing and I thought that is why sometime the 700r4 is hunting for a gear from 3rd to 4th sometimes. So I will get with the guy who rebuilt the tranny and see what he can do about that. I still haven't installed the new rear spings or radio but am super happy that my vibration is gone. I took it to my old driveline shop in Dallas and drove it about a hundred miles to get back to work with no problems.

Isn't installing the new rear springs (and 2" lowering blocks),... going to affect the 4 degree pinion shim you just put in?
And possibly the driveshaft total length?

I have thought about and I am not smart enough to know if it will mess things up. If they mess things up I will change it back.

I thought I would post a picture of the new motor install. I was at a local car show that was giving away 3 crate motors to participants. The car show was a chairity event for a local fire firefighter who had been badly injured in a fire. I did not win the drawing for a motor but one of the gentlemen who did gave it back to the show and had them auction it off and give the proceeds to the fire firefighter. I bid on the GM 260HP crate engine and was the winner at $1050 including the engine stand. I then sold the motor that was in the truck along with the intake, distributor, balncer, water pump, and fuel pump along with all the stainless fasteners. I updated those parts along with new motor mounts and a fresh coat of Por 15 on the manifolds. I am still in the break in period but it runs great. It really doesn't run any different than the old motor just a little smoother and hopefully doesn't burn oil like the old one.

20k in one year! Thats twice what momma puts on the mini van and 4x as many miles as I drive mine. Good for you. So I guess you got all the "bugs" worked out?

I drive her 40 miles plus a day so it adds up quick. I currently have a valve cover leak from the new motor install but that is about it right now.

Thank you. I was really surprised. I put the seat out of my Highlander in it right before the show and I really like it. I just got a full size second row seat and I am going to get them both redone in the Highlander fabric and probably put this one back in the truck. The foam on this one is like new and feels great compared to the POS that was in there.

You're right, that does suck. Hopefully there's no frame damage.
