The last thing was underneath, the bracket at the transmission needed to be raised so the cable would clear the crossmember. There was a little trimming to the bracket to get it to clear the lip of the pan. I was able to get it hooked up and it worked without moving any of it, but there was a kink almost right at the bracket and the cable was rubbing the crossmember pretty hard. Greg

Swapped the fittings and hooked up the power steering lines. The check valve came from the donor truck, it has the larger port connection for the hose and fits into the old brake booster. Greg

Ok, the truck is back from the body shop after about 4 months. It took a while but I finally have it back, now its time to get this on the road.

Here's what I've been working on as of late. Moving the battery to the drivers side, and the ECM mount. I was able to locate an original aux battery mount, and modify that using the 06' battery tray. The side brackets are pretty stout and the bottom is usually what rusts out anyway, so now it all bolts together and the bottom can be replaced when needed.

I started with a cardboard template, once that was right, I made the bracket out of aluminum, the bend is right at 75*. The inner fender had to be worked a small amount to provide a flat mounting surface.

I had a local shop fabricate this cover (based on the one for my blazer) for the inside of the bed. It's about an inch wider and the top tab is folded in and welded.

Craigslist score! I found these fans for $200 and they fit my radiator like they were made for it. If you look at the measurements on summit's web site, it looks to me like all the dual fan setups from flex-a-lite are the same as their universal set, they just use different brackets for specific vehicles. I had the bottom bracket fabricated, and I'll work on the top one later. Not sure if I will do it the same, or bring it all the way across the top of the core support.

Those fans do look like they fit nice! You got lucky on that one. Any pics of the rest of the truck? What color is that?

Couple more of the fit of the fans on radiator.
LS1Nova, paint color is the original olive green, the new paint was blended in with the old as best they could. They just did the body work on the fuel fillers and painted the back door jam and the bed side. The tail gate was also painted (it was powder blue and white). I'll paint the whole truck later down the road, right now just trying to make it a driver. I'll probably be needing one of your cruise levers eventually. Thanks, Greg |

Updates, the local tube and hose place welded these fittings on and made my hoses for me, the fuel system is almost completely done.

The tac module is mounted, along with the wire harness for the pedal. I opened the original speedo cable hole and used the grommet that was on the harness from the 06' truck. Also, the left hole on the tac module was opened up to fit the top hole on the booster bracket, right side had some trimming to fit round the grommet, and a spacer to take up the gap to the fire wall. I've decided to run the wires inside the top channel of the core support, instead of in the wire holder behind it. Pretty easy, just have to trim the tops of the ribs, and none of it is seen afterward, including the wires.

First pic in the last post was how I connected the main power wire for the dash, lights, etc. The wires for the fuse block will be run thru the bracket and under the inner fender. Last couple pics here gives an idea what it will look like when it's all done. Greg
