Ran it out of gas!!! Darn gauge was stuck and I did not realize I was getting better gas mileage than a Toyota Prius!!! LOL :crazy:

Well got truck back from body shop no tailgate got burnt form uncle in WA he was sopose to go look at tailgate and buy it sent him 600.00 and haven't heard from him.... but started putting NOS Grill and New Lights on Truck ?Next Air Bags, Rear Disk Brakes. Wifes Cancer is Getting Better I Hope... Working On This Helps me

replaced my original 6 pin trailer harness with an RV 7 blade / 4 flat multiconnector and added a class III hitch :metal:

I strated it up and moved it 10' forward in the Garage, so my Wife could get to the Paint Supplies.

I took my truck for a little drive and a mini photo shoot... and then to get lunch where it left me stranded at the local Smokehouse Parking Lot... $40 tow home and a lot of swearing at the distributor didn't do much to brighten my day... I've already replaced the Cap, Rotor, Module, and the Coil a few weeks ago... It ran fine since until yesterday when I just don't get any spark at all... so I'm pretty much at a loss here. I'm thinking it's time to go for the Gold and get myself one of those Skip White HEI's and hopefully be done with the issue.

All the pics were taken with an iPhone Camera so quality isn't stellar... The first pics were taken with an app that gives it that Vintage look... Pretty Cool in my opinion...

I started out the day by just wanting to change plugs and wires in the blazer and now its turning into a full engine compartment revitalization...Still not done just in on lunch break..

Helped my brother replace the front seal on the a/c compressor on his '95 4 by 4.

After we got the seal in we filled it with R-134 and it cooled great.

Before that I was building some shelves in my wife's sewing room.

Something I have not done since Thanksgiving, touch it. I spent the day cleaning the shop up some, but hoping to get more hands-on this week while I am off.

I primered in the fender and broke two ratchets trying to remove my broken trailing arms

checked the cam for a down lobe, replaced the timing chain and cover only to run out of gas 1/2 mile into test drive

Installed new cab bushings from Energy Suspension, What a great upgrade... Mark

Fixed an exhaust leak. Replaced the paper header gaskets with aluminum ones. Best $35 i ever spent.

Well combonation between yesterday and today. Yesterday pulled the seat and gas tank out of the 72. The tank was half full of old gas and full of pin holes, pulled the sending unit out to see about saving it, looks like a big NO. Today we pulled the dog house off the 70 'burb. Trying to make it easier on myself taking the transmission crossmember out to swap it into my 67.

I think I cracked the piston or broke a ring. Too much blow by and runs rough. Pulled it out and waiting on a GF to come over and pick which motor to put back in.

I did it! I did it!

After owning my truck for nearly 13 years, I fixed the spedometer!! I replaced the spedometer cable for the second time and this time it works. The "old" new one was somehow stuck. My truck has been at the 38,908.8 mile mark for as long as I have owned it. I am prould to say in all this time I have not gotten a speeding ticket.:lol:

Now I wonder how many miles I have on the rebuilt motor I did nearly 10 years ago!:lol:

Saturday I drove it over to a welding shop where a friend works and he redid my exhaust from the mufflers back and sent it straight out the back. Sounds good! Today I installed the fuel cell for good and got the lines ran up to where it'll tie into the original lines. Hope to have the bed back on it by the 12th for a carshow, shouldn't be a problem.

Took it to see my grandfather [at the cemetery] he was in a wheelchair when I was restoring and allways asked why do you waste so much time working on it just buy a new truck. When it was done I was able to get him out for a ride with a little help from my friends and I will never forget that big smile he had and he liked it. He passed away 2 weeks later.

Put down carpet strips in the back of the Burb, cleaned it up a bit from its road trip to the swap meet last weekend, and started tearing down a 70 350 that's been sitting on the stand.

I bagged the front of my truck - re-located shocks - got custom longer brake lines made - drug headers across the driveway - looks like shorty headers and new exhaust tucked up in the frame is next.

Always something else after you change anything but you gotta love it

I put my wife to work by putting new mirrors on the doors, insulating the cab, new floor mat, installing the seat, installed a new glove box, and new speakers in the doors.

Sandblasted parts most of the day and restored a set of hard to find 72 Red door panels.

Finally found the blocked brake line and replaced it with new ones. Now have fluid going to all 4 corners.

Got Rusty out of the garage for the first time in a few weeks. She needs to get some "new" rubber and to hit the street for a bit.
