Thank you, this truck has never been hit so the frame was super straight and the powder came out perfect.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

So here is the update. The front is together. I have to cut the ends of the tie rods but I will wait until the rear is together before I do that. It went together super easy. I am really happy with how this truck is going together. The truck is not fighting me at all which is great because i am not used to that or maybe I am just getting lucky. At any rate I am waiting on the rear end and some hardware. So I am moving onto the cab tonight I plan on doing the fire wall and finishing the wet sanding. http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...mefront006.jpg

Thanks guys, I went back and forth on the front brakes, do I go with the big 14 inch rotors or the smaller stock ones. I just did not feel like spending the extra money so I will use these for now. Later when I build the tahoe/burb I will put these on the tahoe and buy the big ones for this truck. At any rate I think the truck is coming out cool. I am suposed to get the engine this week which will be cool.

Oh so you are a Dentist…I remember reading in the build for your wife you have a practice. If your level of work on your hobby is this high I can only imagine the top-notch level of work you give your patients. Man, I bet they are all smiles. :haha:

That is funny. I treat my pts like I would treat my parents or kids if they were in my dental chair. I do the best possible work I can and I am always honest with them. It is the only way for me to go home at night and sleep. That is when I do sleep because I am always working on these trucks.

I struggled with this on my current build as well - I think it looks great. I think you will end up leaving them on as they looks great and who knows you will probably just go bigger on the Tahoe!!!!

I think what you have done in the time frame is second to none - totally amazing! When I look at these pictures - your frame/PB stuff should be up at a booth in SEMA or something!! Seriously beautiful work!!

I have a root canel I need looked at I will catch a flight out asap:lol::lol:

Thanks Ronnie just let me know on that root canal I will knock it out for you. The flight may be more then the root canal. Glad you like the frame. It came out really clean. Nate and his gys make nice parts so it was easy for me to get the frame to this point.

Hey where did your user name come from. I have been using mine as just Chapstr since I bought an xbox 360 in 05. Stole mine from Napstr and combined it with my last name Chapa. :haha:

I would do it in a heart beat if you were closer. I love to paint and in the past have done a lot of my own work. But I am just so swamped with work and my family and these frames I just don't have the extra time to paint.

My user name came fro me my bike racing years and out door motocross. Superfly is what mt dad called me because people would say I was smooth and fast on a bike and motorcycle. The steiny is what I was called by my team mates in football. From the time I was a kid until I was through collage. So I combined the 2

No way man stop light to stop light brother. Plus 29 inch tires it will be fine. my burb had 411 with 17 and it did 70 all day long

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Looking badass!! I love the brakes with your choice of wheels. Are you going to run a one or two piece driveshaft? I noticed on your project "Second Chance" you ran a two piece and I've always wondered how that held up to the blown motor? I plan on running some serious HP in my 72 but have always questioned whether a two piece drive shaft would be a week link or not. Thanks for the pics and keep em coming :metal:
