I was really just playin around man .. but .. If you're gonna be a bear, be a Grizzly!

Seriously ?? Are you considering it? I don't know if I have ever seen one personally (boosted LSx in a C10) It's probably out there but man you talk about drawing a crowd at a show !! I'd sure be drooling on it.

I'd like to have a setup for my truck too, .. ! hint .. Umm.. That would be a great idea! hint ..

it does not look simple but for some reason i dont ever learn and keep complicating my life with these builds , i never go to shows i just build for my own satisfaction , i'm going to keep researching and lets see what happens ,
im on the fence still , procharger its simpler , but yes twin t's big WOW factor for sure

What the hell... I go to the gym and I come home to this!! Lol. Keep it simple man. Then you can build another truck for almost what you will have in that motor. Or one call to Justin at Scotts and order a front and rear super slam and let's roll!!!

lol. I really just wishing they would find there way into my engine bay!!

Here is another pic of the Nova. Take it easy on me it was my first full blown build. I painted it with help of a guy that I know. The guy that did the photos is out of Miami Beach. We have been friends for a long time. His name is Christopher Knight.

lol. I always wanted a nova from when I was 7. I grew up on the west side of Chicago. My dad a hot rodder and street racer. I remember going out with my dad and his boys. His best friend Victor had a 68 that was bad ass. I watched him kill every car he went up against. Since then I always said I would own one. Now I just have to make mine fast..... LOL.

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

u dont need too much horsepower on the car or trucks, once you reach a certain level, all you're going to be doing its burning rubber , lets face it , street slicks are ugly on these trucks because of the way we build them , low stance that is , so take it from me at 640 rwh thats all i do , smoke my pretty nitto tires , dont get me wrong its fun but you can do the same in the 300+ hp range

cool, i remember when big al showed us the miranda built fraternal twin ;)

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

ok juan you may need juuuust a little more than 300hp to do a rolling burnout like that :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

 I was really just kiddin about the twin turbos. I'm just sayin, with everything you've done to this truck in what 3 weeks ?? I don't think a relatively stock 5.3 would be dropped in it. Didn't mean to catch your wallet on fire.

It would be cool though and the truck fits the theme.

Regardless of what you do under the hood it's going to be awesome I'm sure.

BTW - Have you guys seen the LS valve covers for the GTO ? What if .. (don't steal it!) Someone were to take a dremmel and remove the bottom of the G, and the two top 'bars' off the T ?? It would read C10
Clean them up, paint them engine color maybe ??

Someone may have already thunk it. Would be a cool idea for this truck even.

Later.

yes but those chargers are 5k to 6k not cheap at all i can do a procharger set up for $3500.00 turbos are up there also, it all comes down to which looks cooler and so far most votes are for the twin t's

If you got the cash its hard to compete with the final numbers a custom twin set up is capable of producing. Likew you know I have seen several that really spiral out of control once you dive into the custom header route. Eiher way I would probably go through and forge a 5.3 if your going for anything more than say 400-450 to the wheels.

I have seen guys flip stock manifolds and build cheap turbo set ups but something tells me your not going that route.

Personally I think a procharger will suck on a stock 5.3. I have driven a couple and at safe boost levels the fun is over before it really starts.

No matter what route you go being blown is the best..lol

i dont think im going to mess with it chad . it ill boost it up and see what happens , if 5.3 dosent hold, then itll be fun rebuilding

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

All joking aside, yeah I agree. I was really just kidding around. I'd just sit it in there as is. I like the LS motors. A lot of power and mpg. Mine will be lucky to get 6-8mpg.

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

lol i get 5 mpg on a cool day if im lucky, big blocks are my favorite , yours and bennette's look sweet , mine came off of a 88 hd chevy truck , it is a 4bolt main and it was rebuild with its factory crank and rods , then added some 30 over forged pistons , mild cam with aluminum heads, something simple , then it began , procharger but with the heat downhere it was nothing but problems with carbs, so i took it appart again down to the short block , so i added a comp cam w 670 lift so it rocks , fully roller , f.a.s.t. efi and set it up to run on strictly e85 fuel as its 105 octane , you can tell the rest just by the pictures , its putting 640 rwhp on a stock bottom end and its running awsome , so back to the 5.3 i want to see how far i can get with it ,no worries
