Re: Pics of your truck in the snow

So the first antique truck show of the season is Saturday, ATCA Old 40 Chapter show. We had a late 10" snow a couple weeks ago and I was waiting till a couple rains to was the crap off the roads when on Easter they pre-treated for the snow "they thought" was coming that didn't. That's one reason right there I think that stuff is a bad idea. We can get zapped with more body decaying solutions even if it never snows. Anyway, I was concerned about running the truck Saturday since we hv only had drizzle to light rain a little. I check the weather to see if we'll get a good rain before the show and see they are calling for SNOW! It won't be much, if anything, but what the heck... snow? I check my e-mails and the show has been cancelled untill sometime in August. I guess snow won't be a concern by then. Sorry, no trucks in the snow show pictures.

Had about 13 inches but it melted down to about 5 of heavy wet snow. Still had to plow. Didnt know there were two truck and snow threads. Really a pain early snows like this , the gravel driveway isn't frozen yet so it gets all chewed up even raising the skids doesn't help they just dig in .

Only made it to -30 here last night.

Monday I had to start the truck for the first time in a few months. I forgot to put a charger on the battery the night before (stupid). I got it started with a jump from a boat battery but the truck battery was too flat to run the plow. Luckily the battery in the convertible (no radio or clock draining it) had enough juice to run the plow - after a jump from another boat battery.

I'm not even going to try again until we get to zero or above.

Living here just a few miles outside of Las Vegas but grew up in Montana, so no snow here. Used to have a lot of fun going up the gulch being pulled behind a truck on a sled. Those were the days, good times.

That's a healthy snow for Prescott, Kurt. I saw where that storm dump on you guys. We had one storm pass south and that one to the west and north. What we got was gale force winds from the pressure gradient. We're about done with any decent snow here this year. But they say through the first ten days of March (at this point) will be colder than average. Never know, we've had snow in April before.

Nothing good to show this year, but before this thread passes on for the year I'll pop some pictures from winters past

After plowing my driveway. Almost 40 inches here in Feb. Set a record for snowiest Feb. I know, I should show the huge piles this thing pushed up! 1000lbs in the bed, and a 1000lbs Diamond plow makes for easy cleanup.

special-K: I know right? Flagstaff Snowbowl season total is over 22 feet.

A customer who lives in Phoenix, asked me to check if the County had plowed the streets to his house under construction. It's a little higher than town, and is on the north slope. I knew better than to try getting one inch farther than this, and could have got stuck if I was dumber.

Love the truck. Great useful K/20 truck picture. I used to plow with a couple K/20s and they did great. I think I have one picture with plow mounted from rear quarter shot. I need to do a Walmart photo scan session next day I'm rained or snowed out.

Dumber people could die, right? One quick "whoop" to the side with the rear end could do it.
