Here are a couple of mine.
It's a 1977 Silverado C/10 built in Fremont Ca. Sold in San Rafael Ca. She is still sporting her original paint and has only 110,000 on the odometer. I am the 2nd owner. The original owner used to show it till his death in 2006 his wife gave it to her son in law, who drove a year till he blew the trans then is sat till I bought it 6 months ago. I am going to bring her back to her street rod days of circa. 1980. last photo is the day I got her home.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

This is what I started out with a while back - '87 GMC the PO had totally re-badged into a Chevy, with a 50 foot'er paint job and blue interior:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...k/DSC_5653.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...k/DSC_5656.jpg

I wanted something a bit different, and, while it's not done just yet (and it's pretty dirty), this is the direction I took:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...k/DSCN0420.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...k/DSCN0422.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...k/DSCN0424.jpg

Oh, yeah - that nasty chin spoiler was reinstalled by mistake, and is coming off...

Jerry

That's a tight looking truck! I got an '86 that's about to get a 4/6 drop and new wheels/tires. Your truck's stance is what I'm looking for. But I'm still not quite sure of the wheel backspacing. What's the b/s on yours?

I have to agree. My brother wants me to "Bag" mine, but I absolutely refuse. I think it looks silly. I can't fathom spending money on that and those wheels & tires when obviously the money could be spend on things it really needs. But hey, thats just me.

Your right Chaplain, everyone has their own taste. Just saying it isn't mine, I go around & round with my brother all the time. He likes this sort of stuff and I don't. He needs to get his own truck and keep his eyes off mine, LOL.

Welcome to the site jchurchill!!

I tend to like the ability to do this-whether I would ever do it if I had the ability to or not. But Hey! Its a great emergency brake! And you'll never have it twed on you.

Well that depends on where you park it! I have heard of tow truck drivers in the Ghetto parts of Pittsburgh who just drag the vehicle to the impund lot if they cant get it on the bed or in the air.

Cool i post my truck and get one comment and when someone post a lowered pile with ugly rims the whole board wakes up, what has this world come too its a truck not a car. Sorry if i offended anyone i guess i am to old to see the beauty in it and this is why i left before.

I am with both of you. I think it ruins these classic trucks.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Im old, but I still like my trucks on the ground. I like driving windey roads way too much to deal with some top heavy truck wallowing around corners. That being said, I also use my trucks as trucks. Thats the cool thing about bagging a truck; you can have your cake and eat it too. Having an adjustable suspension that rides good, I dont know, I just dont see a down side. I can set the ride height and ride quality I want from the drivers seat, and I can compensate for whatever load I want to put on it. Or, if I get a wild hare up my backside, I can set it off the pavement at the height of my sidewalls and cruise through town. Nope, no downside that I can see....

mud.man.rj 02-17-2015 03:09 PM

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Your right, no downside. Looks stock or lower it and looks super cool. Think it shows taste and not a boring ride like so many, but everyone likes something different and to me they all have a cool factor in "their" own way.:sexy:

jchurchill 02-17-2015 10:27 PM

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Thanks everyone. I do plan to keep the truck patina all but the interior. I am going to restore the interior back so stock except a billet steering wheel. Bags are defiantly the way to go.

MSL is a bit heart broken I guess with not enough looks, every truck has it's personality, all cool on here, lifted, lowered, in between, old, new ugly, fake patina...all trucks bro. Gotta love a Chevy.:chevy:

X2 ... I personally love to see everybody's rig whether it's my taste or not. I can appreciate the work and engineering that goes into making a custom ride. I am restoring mine back to how it would have been around 1980. Definitely not every ones taste but it is a dream of mine to return to my own hot rod days. I always wanted a Square Body and saw the potential but being 18 in 77 meant I could never afford one back then.

This are the wheels I ordered for my GMC
20x8.5 /20x10. Don't know if I will need any wheel adapters to bring them out. If anybody haves an idea please let me know. ..... Back space for front is 4.5" and 5.5 rear.
