Thank you, kinda went with the spartan look. Still want to find a good rubber mat when they make a good repro. Doors are next to be painted by Maaco

changed the hot air choke over to electric, pretty simple and straight forward. Just switched out the guts w/ one screw

Nice Seats and console! I need to do the choke thing to mine too. Just need to run the wires, but I'm having too much fun driving it!

3x on the manufactorer(but all corrected by them, 4x didn't even tell them about it. seems that their 'exact match to the original' has an extra 6 vertical rows that the original does not. Found this out from the installer, he didn't bother to tell me until after the seats were all sewn up. cost me 30 bucks to ship the original seat matrl. out to them, so they could make sure it matched!! shipping wasn't bad, they said 5 weeks, and they shipped within 5 weeks

installer jerked me around on the price, increased it 3x. borderline bad business

The only 2 positives were the 2 board members, 6T727T2 and low and slow. They were both great to deal with

How are you going to wire up your choke? I know the red is going to go to power, but how about the other one? Does it just go to ground? What decides if its on or off?

you're askin' the wrong guy about electrical stuff, all I know is the pink feeds it 12volts and its grounded through the carb, motor, and frame...as long as you have your grounding straps hooked up

when you find out how it works give me a call

Looked it up on Edelbrock's website. It says to connect power to a key on source, not a hot wire as it will stay on all the time and overheat. Mine has a ground lead, yours may not, so it may be internally grounded.

Thanks, mine is hooked up to a relay, so when I get my engine ready to run, I'll check for a 12volt keyed source at the choke

My HEI is hooked up to the ignition

Mine is too, got a plug from the junkyard and just replaced a wire in the bulkhead connector for it. The relay idea is a good one for that, will ensure you get full voltage at the choke.

Here are the newest addition to the mods and parts to the project...

didn't like the console that came with the B&M shifter, so I changed to Lokar, boots and rings seem to be a better fit. Trans, cooling lines came from In line Tube. Now, just need some time...

Re: PO has me PO'd

so does that shifter have detents for positive 1-2 and 2-3 shifts? Or could use easily overshoot 2nd and hit OD or even N?

A buddy is offering me a 2nd gen f-body shifter...it would just need a console of some sort. Even though its OEM...those shifters had detents (apply right pressure to shifter while moving forward forced lock into next detent) so you could slam 1-2 and 2-3 w/o hitting N.

they were one of the reasons I went Lokar, planned on putting them side by side, but they don't quite fit. So, I will buy 1 more and bend the outside edges down to fit the contour of the hump, then cut the LED surround and mount it on the top of the 2. unless I get another idea

postive locks on park and neutral, downshifts detented for D 1 2, upshifts no detents. Not into banging gears anymore, it's my money when something breaks...lol

I'd say go for it!! Sounds like a better shifter for your needs

Re: PO has me PO'd

I had been thinking of going with a B&M Truck Megashifter. I want to get away from the column shift because it won't be as accurate as I will need for burnouts, shifts during passes, etc. I'm not pleased with the look of the Megashifter...but its more about function then appearance.

Now....if their Unimatic shifter or this Lokar gave me positive upshift detents...I'd go that way.

Thanks Kurt, yeah, I'm shooting for springtime again. One of these years, I have to be running:lol:

the work to be done list is getting shorter, and the parts list is getting shorter! Actually, I'm looking forward to another winter in the warm workshop, not much happening around here except a fishin' trip/ snowmobiling in Feb. Presidents Day, if you are around...

Picked up some ARP flanged bolts for the pan, and another ring for the shifter, looks like I will have to build a box to mount the LED selecter to the hump, and maybe cut a 1/2" outta the t/c ring
yeah, I know, I got some more grinding to do (first pic)

Here ya go Swamprat, I can see why you would miss a place like this
drove up above the tree line, there was a fire in one of the states at the time, or you would be able to see much farther

Big Sky is just to the left, picture taken just before I fell in the river(Galleten River)

Aftermath, first time in 20 years I fell in! Water was only a foot and a half deep, but when your prone....well it was over my head

Weird lookin' cows out there
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...hinTrip239.jpg

local story out there goes something like this:
Husband decides to take his wife elk hunting with him. Sets her up in a good spot, and about an hour later hears a shot. walks down to her spot to hear her yelling and screaming at a man standing near, with her gun aimed at him! "Stay away from my ELK"...Man's response was "No problem, lady, just let me get my saddle off"
