Also squeezed in the vintage air gen iv unit( its a big unit and tight fit due to the engine set back ,but its as snug as a glove).. after i cut out the original dash I mocked up the condenser, pre- ran all the lines, bulk head fittings made sure there was enough room for all the vent runs, and defroster vents, welded in threaded studs so the fire wall remains clean. If didnt do this when the dash was cut out and would have put the smooth dash in first, it would have been a nightmare to get it all put in.( Thanks rick mellon for that idea )

If you look way down there you can see how i ran the A/C lines and the heater lines just hidden under the A/C lines ( for a clean look with easy maintenance if need be,, the dryier is tucked up under the fender

Found some pre-molded heater lines so I can run them where It needed to be.

put in a more compact size hood latch and relocated

Nice work so far, very inspiring.
In the last pic showing that hood latch spring, does anyone know where to source one? Mine is missing and I have not been able to find one.

CLEGG are you asking about the factory latch spring that you need?

clegg 02-05-2019 01:57 PM

Re: slammed 57

I have the latch assembly, just not the spring that pushes the hood up when released. Thanks.

well back on the truck here....my new goal is to have all the metal work done by October...remember its a GOAL, not an ABSOLUTE but I am pretty determined here... we'll see. but I got the front sway bar in the rear sway bar will be in by the end of the month... also been looking for rear shock mounts but I could find anything that would work for me sooooo! I fabricated some up... took a while to cut and weld everything up, but they are in. THe Mar-k bed should be here next Wednesday. I am looking for a pair of good rear step side fenders if any of you know of a pair for sale, I know shipping ain't cheap but I need some. but thanks for checking in

Got the new mar-k bed the other day... real nice quality i do have to say. but nothing more nerve racking than cutting up a brand new bed. now I need to come up with a plan for raising the bed floor and tubs

It looks great...For tubs I suggest looking at Dennis Carpenter F@*d parts
https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/en/

They are not cheap but I think that they have the best shape and you can get them in different widths. I went with 2 3/4" on my 48.

Thanks
Marc

I wanted to go with a wide harley rear fender. I was going split it down the middle and cut it to the size i needed.. I liked how curved it was and thought it would look pretty clean.....but radius is only 27" and i really needed about 32" radius... so I will probably go with mongocanfly type tub...

Hello my friend. I like the rear Harley fender idea, you'll find a way to make it right. you are very creative.

I used a trailer fender, you can find them with a larger radius. I split it down the middle, welded a flange on them and covered the open side.

Thanks bud... I did look at those and they look great . but I need them about 9" wide and would have to cut them up to get it there... I just hate to pay so much for something i still need to cut into

Thanks morrie but the radius just won't work and would have to really have to put too much time into them even if i could make them work

Yes Sir... I have been thinking this route as well. Did you weld them to the bed sides or did you make a flange and bolt them to the bed

Welded a flange on the inside and bolted them on. These are wide enough so nothing will bother them, they sit inside the C4 dogbones, tires will hit my dog bones first.
