Re: WTB magazine ad
I've seen that ad on ebay quite frequently. It's nice but I'm still looking for the one that matches my truck. Thanks for the TTT.

Re: WTB magazine ad
BTW,that`s my grandmother washing that truck. She said she`d do the same pose with your truck if you want.
|
Re: WTB magazine ad
If your grandma looked like that in 1969 that would make you what....about 14??:lol: I think you've been lying about all these trucks that you've owned. Have you been scanning old pics of your parents claiming that you took them way back in the day?:lol:

Re: WTB magazine ad
Bus...TED!!!!Actually,it`s my uncle Kermit that I`m acting as.Make sense?Special-"K"?How`m I doin`?
I started driving when I was 8 and I had a pro-street truck I built with grass cutting money and washing Mr. Peabody`s Edsel.AND!!FOR YOUR INFORMATION I HAPPEN TO BE 16 1/2!!!!! Do you want current pictures of granny? She still has that suit, just needs to pin it up to take up all the extra fabric. |
Re: WTB magazine ad
I'm thinking about cruising ebay for 1972 field and stream mags. If I could find the whole year pretty reasonable I'd just go out on a limb and buy em and see what happens. In the meantime I'm worrying myself sick hunting this ad. I may have to go see a DR.

Re: WTB magazine ad
Still no luck on finding the ad.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/aceuh/72ad.jpg I did find (and buy) a handful of old CARtoons magazines. This ad is turning out to be like looking for a 3 barrel carb! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18.../ads/012-2.jpg |
Re: WTB magazine ad
what are some of the common magazines truck ads were in.
|
Re: WTB magazine ad
I've heard that Field and Stream and any other outdoor mags are a good source. I'm coming up pretty dry around here.
|
Re: WTB magazine ad
I went to a flea market to day and they had 4 or 5 places with old truck ads but not one 67-72.Theres 10 issues of popular science on ebay from 72 dont know if they had any of these ads or not

Asa,I had one in one of my parts trucks. It was in the glovebox...darn my luck for accidently catching it on fire while cutting up the cab.
Attachment 315518  J/K..but that was a parts truck of mine that did catch fire:( ...well the cab did,the rest was already scrapped |
Re: WTB magazine ad
I`ve run out of silly comments and my nose is twitchin`.My intuition says you`ll find it soon.

Re: WTB magazine ad
Four days of scouring the swap meet at the Turkey Run turned up tons of mags and ads. Lots of the vendors already had them categorized by makes and era. Still no luck (couple papercuts:lol:)

i have to be part of the action now, i will look for you, too. good luck by the way

Re: WTB magazine ad
If I were you I`d hire a private eye to look into who won the sole ad we know of.It could get expensive, but you could always sell your truck to finance it.Wait...I guess that would be pointless.
I swear if I find this ad,it`s yours.I found this `71 dealer`s price when I had my `71 CustomCamper. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...scan0022-1.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s55/scan-1.jpg |
Re: WTB magazine ad
This board is the best thing to come around since the wheel!
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18.../ads/010-2.jpg I appreciate you guys keeping your eyes peeled for me. It's gotta turn up again sooner or later. |
Re: WTB magazine ad
see ten,
Let's start to narrow down magazines this article could have been in by size. I have a November 1971 Popular Mechanics which measures 6 1/2" wide x 9 1/8" tall(not in there by the way). Your ad you seek fits comfotably in an 8 1/2" x 11" sleeve. What magazines were roughly 8" x 11 1/2" around the time new Chevy models were introduced to the public in 1971-72? Chuck |
Re: WTB magazine ad
Wow, I've got no idea what's going to fall in to that category as far as size is concerned. Everyone keeps telling me that outdoor magazines are the way to go. I'm sure it's going to turn up sooner or later. Until then I'll just keep plugging away risking life and limb with papercuts. Maybe I need to find this instead.
