Looks like you have plenty of room now for that header.
I say just clear coat the stripped fender, the metal looks so good!
What method of removing the paint did you use?

I used a grinder with one of those plastic wheel stripper thingy, razor blades and sand paper.
There is one guy around here that has a 50 Chevy car that is bare metal with just a clear coat over it he calls it "bare it all".

The last few days were spent taking the truck apart AGAIN so i could work on the rad support. I added a couple lovers on the drv side of the rad support. It will aloud more air to my air filter box.

Since I'm still pretty new here it is real hard to get the time to read all the pages of these build theads in detail. This sure is another cool build thread! I really dig your detailed pics.

I though i had it under control, made a carton box prototype and cut the sheet metal, when i realized that the hood tilt hinge kit was in the way, so back to the drawing board.:banghead:

Sent all the front grill pieces to the chrome shop today.$$$$

where on ebay did you get the intake hose and pipe? do you have the sellers info?

Here is a ebay link of the same kit i bought (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-06...d=p3911.c0.m14).
I had to modified the heck out of it. The filter was way to big , i ended buying a shorter one. I cut the two brackets that were on the pipe and also shorten it by about 3 inches. And bought the rubber elbow at the maf separately.

Not to much going on here in the last few weeks. Still waiting for my fuel pump to show up to finish off the fuel lines, they shipped the wrong one so had to send it back. Got the body of the frame AGAIN so i can do some more body work before it get to cold around here, a couple weeks ago we had our first snow. Got the rad hoses done, Mounted the fender script just to see how it would look. Next is to fabricate a fan shroud to fit a 16" electric fan.

Today was blasting day. Got the cab soda blasted inside and out. I wanted to get the box and the hood also done today but all we had time to do was the cab. This guy work steady for six hours on the cab. The process was kind of slow, I didn't think it would take that long to do. It uncovered some of the passed body work that was done years ago. Now i have twice as much work to do, got to repair a bunch of dents and dings that didn't show before we blasted the paint off. The soda didn't do as well as i though on the rusty surfaces so there will be more work to do their also.

Well this week was the fan and shroud fab and installation. Took a piece of stainless bend the edges to fit the rad, used plasma cutter for the fan opening and voila a fan shroud.
Next week I'll try to do the fuel pump installation.

Did you use a stone cup on a drill or drill press to do the decortive turning? That looks nice.

I used 2" die grinder buffing pads on my drill press.

Today i finally got around to install the fuel pump I got from Tank Inc.

Here is the CPP fuel tank before installation. I decided to relocate the fuel sending unit to the front of the tank and install the fuel pump at its place. That will keep the pump at the rear of the tank.
Attachment 520213
I grounded the weld off and removed the sending unit mounting plate.
Attachment 520214
Here you see how much larger the fuel pump access hole is going to be, 4 1/2".
Attachment 520215
I attached the fuel pump head plate upside down, secured it with self tapping screws and drill all 16 mounting screw holes.
Attachment 520216
Here is the drilling and cutting all done.

Here is the fuel pump assemble together ready to be installed.
Attachment 520222
Tomorrow i will take the tank to a welder to weld the sending unit mounting plate back on at its new location. The pump is attached with 16 screws to a mounting plate that you slip inside the tank first.
