Cool man progress!!

I though my 92 was free of rust mostly but found the weak spots on the cab corners, paint looks good but you can push it in over a 1/4 in and if you wanted to push your thumb through it

Thanks Joe!
Size 18" yes, I'm aware of the rotor issue. No problem there, I'll just taper the rotor back a little. (machine access at work)

that's a nice perk!!

Thanks again for the diagram. I went wire to wire and it worked great. Nice tip on the ground too, turns out the pass. side ground was cut and kept it from working. Spliced it back together and had all the lights working.

glad you got it working!

How soon do you figure before your ready for paint?

We could have it ready for paint by next week if we hit it real hard. Don't suspect that will happen. More than likely by the end of June. Still have a bunch of sanding to do. It's pretty hard to stay hooked up on it with our busy schedule. :waah: It really has come a long ways and we have a vision now of what it will look when done with only a few minor differences (including the wheels and ride height)............................................................................................. .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... ...............
Look familiar?

Well, we have been working on the truck a lot lately. Not really a lot to show since body work is soooo slow. Anyway, we prepped the jambs and finally put some paint down today. Hope to wrap up the body on Monday (holiday);). Maybe even get the exterior painted. In case your wondering, I chose Dupont Nason single stage urethane. Sorry crappy cell phone pics.

Removed the door panels and started sanding the jambs.

That should look real good when its done. Im sure the engine swap seems like a breeze after doing all that body work.

Here are couple from a little better camera. Still kinda blurry though. I think there's just not enough light in the shop.

Thanks Cableguy! Your right, I would much rather be wrenching than this crap. It is definetly easier;)

Thanks Joe! You can buy it at most Oreilly Auto parts stores. I have sprayed probably 20 gallons in the past with really good results. It can be cleared over too if you want extra depth. Anyway, they sell factory packs (limited colors) with paint, reducer, and catylist for around $140. I like base/clear but on solid colors this stuff is hard to beat for the money.

Yep, it really is good stuff. I had some trucks for 4 years that still looked great even sitting in the direct sun.

Time for some paint....FINALLY!
Dang, I forgot how much work this is. My buddy has a quick setup paint booth that he came over and helped set up. It only took about an hour and a half to get it ready another couple of hours taping it off and cleaning. This morning we got up bright and early and laid some paint on it. It turned out pretty good considering my body work skills aren't the best. It has a few areas that need some work but all in all not too bad. on to the pics:

Sanding done ready for the booth.
