Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

nope..not yet. should get it back this coming weekend. there was some missing parts on the metal order so I had to wait. I can't wait to get it back though...the yard just doesn't look right without that thing sitting in it. lol

well i finally got something done! i got my truck back monday, and the past few days i been tearing apart my front suspension...again...to make room for the cupped lca's and new drop spindles

so, now i got my porterbuilt notch, bridge bars, and shock tabs welded in. front suspension is out to make way for the new stuff.

heres some pics...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-21192404.jpg

as you can see, that old panhard bar needs to come off! its pushing my axle over so i kinda left the shock nuts off so its doesnt bend anything up..
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-21192437.jpg

and my pile of old, ugly stock stuff...
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-21192416.jpg

thats it for now, ill be sanding the dust shield and bag plates to get em ready for paint, then i can start bolting stuff back up. i still need new shocks, upper ball joints, and i might get the tie rods and adjusters and blah blah, the rest of that crap around there lol

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

well to keep myself busy and not waste any time, i figured i would try and get some stuff done outback while i wait to get the rest of the front end rebuild stuff.

i finally got my tank mounting bracket drilled to the frame, along with the 2" spacers to keep it from hitting the ground lol.

also made this cool (well i think so) valve bank thingy...i was going to put 2 in each corner close to the bag but was convinced otherwise, so i figured i would make this.

i know my camera skills arent all that, and im using my phone so bare with the horrible pics.

heres the valves...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-25164455.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-25164517.jpg

tank bracket bolted up..and unfortunately this is how i have to run the lines in. 1/2" is an effer to bend right, so i had to make big loops lol. i hope it should be ok this way, this pic only shows 2 in, ill finish the rest up tomorrow when i get off work.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...4-26170414.jpg

and the question of the day. since i have to run my airlines the way they are...is the leader hose being that far away ok? i cant really run the leader anywhere else. the airlines are inside the frame, and the leader is just outside, so a few inches away im guessing. i can clamp them down if i need to...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

I would get a few more 90's and shorten them up if it were me but someone with more air ride experience will hopefully chime in.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

i thought about doing that also, but i really didnt want to buy more fittings lol. also i didnt want to run a chance of another fitting that could possibly leak.

i will do it if someone chimes in and says that its not safe or there is something wrong (other thatn its not very appealing) with running them this way..

make sure you route that d.o.t air line carefully, stuff is pretty durable but does not like any rubbing. make sure you cut it square, i have seen that stuff splinter like a piece of wood.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

well i hope this turns out ok...i got all my airlines (with the exception of the valve to front bags since they arent in yet) hooked up to the tank, rear bags, and valves. bolted down and grounded the compressor, and started running some wires to the front for the valves but got super lazy because i didnt feel like drilling anymore damn holes for the hose clamps lol

what do you guys think?

im hoping i can get these wires ran by the beginning of the next week but i dont get a lot of time to play with this after work, weekends is when i can really tear into it.

also, can someone post up a color diagram of the eai 5 button switchbox? i cant find the original box to mine so i lost the diagram. thanks in advance!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

little progress, took most of the day actually lol. got all the ground wires for the valves grounded and bolted down. also bolted down the relay and ran the wire for the compressor to the relay, the wire from the relay to the battery, and the pressure switch wire to the relay. just have to run the toggle switch to the relay but i have to get one first lol. also bolted down a hook to hold the leader hose so it doesnt get near my airlines. anywho..here we go

standback shot of the power wire. i clamped it down in the back, then once it got in front of the bags i just zip tied it along the brake line that runs to the front.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

whats up rob?

i havent taken the old one off yet..but i jacked the truck up in the rear and removed my shocks. i wasnt comfortable with my bag and shocks twisting like that. im actually gonna take it off tomorrow and try to mock up the new one in the stock position. that should let me know if it will work or not. out of all the people i pmed about on this issue, i got about 50/50 that it will work in the stock position as opposed to running it bolted to the ds of the frame and running it into a bracket on the ps trailing arm. so not a whole lot of resolving yet lol

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

finished up all the wiring for valves, i sure i hope i marked and ran them right. i really dont wanna track down any mixed up switches lol

the wire loom i bought is too small for all the wires, so its going back for some bigger ones, then ill snap some pics.

i do have a wiring question though. i finally found a wiring diagram for the switchbox off ebay, and got all those wired up. my question is, where is everyone wiring up the power wire from the switchbox? and also, where is everyone wiring the power and ground for the gauges? i made a switch for my compressor (thanks for the help tcb1 and hottrucks) instead of running it to 12v, so i hooked that up in my gauge panel.

i know i know, too many words and no pictures lol. ill put some up tomorrow of the wires without the loom.
