Your box says it's the 82.80mm bore, so no real need to measure unless the box is mislabeled. I've got a brand-new caliper at home I've been looking for an excuse to use, so if I remember I'll see what the OD of the hub on my 1.25" rotors is when I get home.

I think there is a problem with your order Leviticus. That part number is suppose to have a Hub Bore of 94.62 (3.725 Inch). This was confirmed on the phone with Troy from American Eagle, Troy has my contact info and will be calling me back with more of an explanation.

This website also shows the new hub size.

Ok, guys,

A little redneck machining aka a grinder and they slid right on!! Looks like the fronts are solved, now onto the rears.

Before and after, you only have to take a little off, not much.

Havent tried the new revised center cap yet but will let you know in a few.

Either way I find it interesting that the wheels didn't fit, because I just measured the hub diameter on my 1.25" rotors and the hub is only 2.961" (75.21 mm) wide, so either wheel should bolt right on. (These are stock replacement rotors from AutoZone or Advanced Auto, can't remember which.) Weird.

Im still a little confused or retarded or both. Laviticus you wrote that they still didn't fit. Is that the 20" or the 18"s? So, this group buy is for the new version, with the modes so we DON'T have to use a spacer and it fits the hub on the front right?

I want (2x) 18x8 and (2x) 18x9.5 in grey to go on my '71 frame with stock rotors. I am getting CPP's Modular Dropped Spindles, with lowered springs.

Also is there any issue with the Shipping address being different than the Billing address. Since I am working in a different state with the Army.

Brent,

Loot at the pictures of the hub bore on my other post, the taper from the back to the front of the wheel. They are deffinately the new design, I think some genius at Boss thought we were having fitment issues at the base of the hub and not the front.

Either way, it was a five minute fix and I got em on.

As for the rears :dohh: when I was at my tire store I had them pull a tamper proof lug nut off that I didn't have the key for, well he got it off and he grabbed a replacement lug nut and proceeded to put it on. Well I walked around the back of my truck and noticed his impact wrench was hammering all the way down the threads not just when it snugged up.

The damage was done, he either cross threaded it or used the wrong lug nut. When I went to pull it off it was really tight on the threads, it spun about 1 and a 1/2 turns then stripped the splines inside the drum:uhmk:.

So I call em, they say yeah bring it back down, I drive all the way back to town and they say they can't fix it till tomorrow...it has been one of those days, its beer time now!

I'll pull the other side and see if the 1/4" spacer will work...after I finish this beer:lol:

I did get some funny looks driving back into town with 20's on the front and 15" Cragars on the rear though, maybe it will catch on as the new fad....man I sure hope not:lol:

Just re-read my post and I didn't mean to give the impression that I thought yours should have fit -- just odd that my stock replacement rotors were significantly smaller than the hub bore on the rims whereas yours were obviously tight. A veritable case of YMMV. I'm still interested in the diameter of your hubs if you can measure before you grind the other side (if you haven't already ... although from you last post it looks like you did).

Brent,

You know, it may have just been my rotors, since no one else has test fit a set yet. Not sure where my rotors are from, they were replaced before I bought the truck. Only time will tell.

And I didn't take it as you were saying they should fit, no worries.

And I'm sorry if I came across a little miffed earlier, like I said, its been one of those days.

coooome on rears!! (crossing fingers)

Someone posted some pictures of a Black truck with these wheels but they look like they fit under the fenders and not inside....or is it just my eyes? I want to bag my truck but those pictures dont look like it'd work.

after looking in the original thread, hickup pickup had to modify his hub alot more. maybe they just didn't retro it enough for us. but either way its not near as bad as what he had to do. nothin like a cold one to let the mind calm down

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Well...I have some good and bad news, the good is the rears look like they will fit with a 1/4" spacer, barely, and I mean barely. There is maybe 1/4" of clearance between the sidewall and inner fender face. Not sure if this is going to be enough, but we will see.

And the bad news, as if this day wasn't frustrating enough , let the pictures do the talking. How I missed this until just now, I have no clue!

do you have a picture of the outter edge clearance? Will it tuck inside fender (bagged) even with a spacer?

I will check right now, I was checking the inside clearance when I noticed my sweet paint job on my wheel and had to walk away from it for a minute cause I was a little :cuss::m6:

Leviticus, I have tubed my bed 1 3/4 towards the center of the bed. Do you think that I would have enought room to run them on a 72? With no spacer....

Yeah, you are golden. With the 1/4" spacer there is maybe 1/4" clearance between the fender and side wall on my 275 series.

I may go for a 1/2" or ? spacer cause its still pretty close.

And Jack, there should be no issues with tucking from what I can see with a 1/4 to 1/2" spacer.

If you mini-tubbed 1.75" & are running a 72 length housing, the 'math' says you should be good. I had 1.75" mini-tubs w/20x10" wheels (5.50" back spacing) using the shorter pre-70 housing & they fit. You're adding .750 each side on housing length & offsetting it w/similar additional back space for the wheels.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

So for my sake and everyone else watching this, the new design will fit the front? The rear will fit also on our trucks but will require a spacer depending on what year rear you have? Any mention of a group buy on spacers from the same guy that is ordering the wheels? Just thought I'd check. Thanks for all the info also.
