Hi what size and thickness of tubing did you use for the rear trailing arms? Where did you get the bushing for the front of it too??

Thanks Darkrider :)

kgmunro, I used .120" wall 2"x3" rectangular tubing and Spohn Del-Sphere joints, found here:

Thanks man, I'm pretty much healed up.....and my bike's almost there too ;) A little more fab work on the bike and I'll be ready to take it apart for paint and powdercoat.....and then final assembly :) Once the bike's done, I'll get back to work on the truck.....I've been jonesing to work on it, but the bike is #1 priority right now.....

Great build, I'm subscribing!! Love the homemade front control arms! I've wondered if it was possible to build them instead of buying a pair and I just may try it now. Can't wait for updates! (with pics)

I crashed a bike about 5 years ago while I was in the middle of a build, so I know how you feel. I had trouble kneeling for almost a year. Halfway through that year of recovery I sold the truck and lost a lot of money, I was really disgusted because I wasn't making any progress and it was taking up space.

Here's a shot of my handy work on the old guard rail:

Good news, I started rebuilding the bike a few weeks after I wrecked (while still on crutches) and I was riding within two months.

Keep up the great work! Subscribed.

I've actually been working pretty hot and heavy on the truck.....I've shortened the bed and I'm hoping to finish the fuel tank this weekend, and maybe, just maybe ;), get the framework for the bed floor done too....

And now for some pictures :metal:

Before I cut the left bedside.....which, by the way, I just picked up from Joedoh (thanks!!)....much better than the one I was planning on cutting up :)

I like the idea of a 7' bed.

Do you have any pics straight at the bed side like these?:

Well, here it is, my first update in quite awhile.....

I finally got my air tank finished up, still need to do brackets on the frame.....

First, a reminder of what I started with:
Attachment 1138395

I welded the end caps on (mig with s/s wire) and made some plates out of 3/8" stainless plate for all my fittings, drilled pilot holes in the plates, welded them on, drilled and then tapped to 3/8" npt. Then made some mounting tabs, and welded those on too.

Attachment 1138396
Attachment 1138394

You can still see the air fitting and plugs I put in it to leak check it....only had one small leak near one of the mounting brackets, easy fix :metal:

More coming.......
