Still sanding and filling and sanding and filling, and sanding and filling this has got to be the worst part of building a truck, espeically when you dont know what your doing. however it is getting closer. I have just the drivers bed side to do yet. thanks to my lovely wife coming out to help sand the hood and tailgate. after I get the last bedside sanded it will be time for some more epoxy primer and a good coat of Polyester primer for another round of sanding.

Re: Build #2 Crusader!

Alright, I been busy tring to get everything lined up for my line of sound deadener, and I have just about everything ready. I am having custom boxes made and they are just a few days out yet. Once they get here ill be ready to ship. I thought I would let those that follow this thread get the first look.

I decide to call it Rhinomat. Like I said before it is comparable to the leading brand of extream sound deadener. It has all the same benefits, but with out the huge cost.

* Easy to cut with razor knife or scissors.
* Just peel and stick
* All sheets measure 18"x 32" 0.067 thick

Enough Rhinomat to do a complete floor and back wall of a:

Regular cab truck $148.00 (40sf)
Crew cab truck $198 (56sf)

Other popular size kits:
Door kit $48 (12sf)
bulk kit $138 (36sf)

Both nice items. You should look into selling the electric rear sliding window.

before i started all this body work, the truck quite running it stumble back fired a few times then qiute and wouldn't start. acted like it wasnt getting any fuel. so shot some either in the TB still nothing must be spark pulled the number one plug and checked it. it was firing. got spark but didnt see fuel but it wouldnt run on either. what could it possibly be.

I have never seen or heard of a pick up coil rusting and disintegrating like that. when i took the cap off big chunks come falling out.

I took the old distributor from my winter beater and dropped it in the truck fired right up. it was pretty easy to change with no hood or windshield

Mike, the truck is looking great. So thats what progress looks like. Wish I could say the same. I have absolutely no experience do body work, so when I get to that point its off to someone who does.

Thank You. I didnt have any experience either, until my last project (silver dollar see the link below). I figured. Im a fairly capable guy. I can do this, its not rocket science right. so I just learned what every product is and what it is used for than just started doing it. I know just because Iv done one truck, I am no way a pro. I do lack the experience and because of that. I lack the most important part of being a good body man and that is Technic. Because I have no technic, I tend to be more cautious, and sometimes have to fix what iv just messed up, so it takes me twice or three times as long to do something a qualified body man could do. I did leaned alot for the first project and this project has gone a lot easier, mentally and physically. I will concentrate most of this long weekend on getting this truck ready for some color. With any luck It will painted and cleared real soon!

no truck is stock 1 ton height. The tires are 305/70/16 Me and the wife were just discussing how much we like the wheel and tire combo. it is the exact look we were going for on the truck.

Re: Build #2 Crusader!

pretty tall for a one ton then. i had to lift my c30 3" to get it tall enough to fit 33s. i like the wheel and tire combo tho looks good

Cant sell any more of my sound deadener. at least for now. I guess I got the attention of Dynamat.

mrhino 09-09-2012 10:23 AM

Re: Build #2 Crusader!

OK the manufacture has failed to negotiate with me, They think I should just sell it back to them at cost Thats not going to happen!! Im going to sell what I have left. So Know you guys know it comes from the same manufacture as Dynamat. it looks like dynamat it smells like dynamat, it must be....

I will not be putting my logo on it. or using the name Rhinomat.
I would be willing to cut each piece in half 18 x 16 to keep from shipping it folded if you like, either way its the Same pricing as before. plus FREE Shipping. onece its gone thats it. they wont sell me anymore. I will add a 4sf sheet to any order for a extra $14

Re: Build #2 Crusader!

no i havn't. i know i shouldnt be using spray paint, but I try to get everything i need online at one time (it saves so much money that way) but i forgot guide coat. and the local paint supply house wants way to much for it along with everything else. The only time i use it is with this feather fill stuff. the epoxy prime i use dries with a semi gloss and when you block it it shows the low spots nicely.
