Not saying this bumper will do it,but it's those who dare to be different who start the trends the others follow. Changing the bumper would leave a nasty scar...no good on a truck you're not touching the body on. Sport bumper/no side-mount looks real sharp. There's something cool about a truck that gives that DILLIGAF vibe after seeing all the pretty pieces out there.

DILLIGAF= Do I look like I give a Fart! Well the Fart part is something a little more cruder if ya get my drift.

Whether or not the bumper is fugly is of no consequence. Question is, is there anything else that would look appropriate on El Cucaracha..... I think not.
I'm just patiently waiting to see that bumper 3 inches off the ground! :metal::metal::metal:

This whole time I was thinking loose the bumper, but after the photoshop, that bumper just makes the truck killer!

And,I voted keep the box! Some of the most unlikely things can set a truck off. I like the,as it always was look and some thing, like patina, just become part of the truck over the years. Tear it all down and do whatever suits you. But,a truck like this has that,"Oh,that thing? Yeah,I like it too" look.
