I didn't want to start a new thread for this, and you do get to catch the Detroit a time or two. Just a great film. GMs of all kinds on the hiways

Not a Detroit Diesel and not a heavy hauler. But this guy put a 478 V6 in his GMC pickup along with a Gear Vendors unit behind the NP435

I tried to find that video and came up with this '77 Peterbilt with 12v71. I apologize in advance for the "shaky" video :D

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos

Hey bill, these last three posts don't show a video. Says "not found". I see it only says You Tube in the caption. I don't know what's up. Recently, all the videos show no picture but if I click the title I still get the video

This was on my laptop, but I see it all now. Probably was a momentary YouTube issue

I remember those Crown buses when I was in CA. I really liked seeing those. Never seen a tandem bus back east except some Greyhound and Trailways

A little history of the 110 that I found online. Very few were installed in trucks:

Series 110

A more powerful alternative to the Series 71

Production Period: 1949 - 1958

This engine was built only as a 6-cylinder inline engine and was to address the need for a 325 to 425 BHP engine. The Series 110 was used in a variety of applications, including construction equipment. This engine was famous for powering the Budd RDC self-powered rail car and Euclid construction machinery.

50,000 units sold
