If you need door weatherstrip this is the only way to go! dont waste your time and money on anything else, these fit like they are made for this truck{1965 c10} I spent lots of $ and a glue mess trying to get these glue on ones on they never worked as good as the Hondas,THANK YOU to the guy who thought of this!

I managed to buy one for the driver side and it fit like it was made for it. I ordered a passenger side 3 weeks ago but they are still on backorder.

I got mine this week. Only took about 10 days to get. Now I can try and get the doors adjusted. For some reason I have about a 1/4" gap along the top of the door around the window area.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Ordered mine yesterday. I tried the glue-on version from Classic Parts and it was a joke. The 3M glue stuck to the door frame but would not stick to the rubber. Next I tried GMC Paul. His parts are designed and marketed for 67-72 trucks. These require no glue and appear much closer to original. However, they did not fit quite good enough. I had to adjust the latch mechanisms nearly all the way out to allow the doors to latch - but slamming the doors was now a requirement. Finally, a friend purchased a set of door gaskets from GMC Paul as well as Steele Rubber and was not pleased with either.

Serious car guy! I have been rummaging throughmy garage and found things that lord knows when I bought it! I'm allways glad I thought to buy whatever it was though.

Got mine yesterday. Approx 2 weeks from order to delivery. Mine came from Drive Auto Parts in Tampa.

Ordered from hondapartscheap two weeks ago and they came in today. They fit like they are made for my 65. I also have the Altman latches but I have a little adjusting to do for the doors to shut like I want. They are alittle tight. I'm sure they need a little breaking in also.

I only just read this post because I already have after market seals that don't work too bad. I will say that somebody has beat me to it in Calgary Pick n Pull where I went today because an 06 Honda coupe civic as well as others are strangely devoid of seals.

Picked up my seals off of an 07 civic coupe at the junk yard. Only paid 30 for the pair!!! Thanks again for sharing rob!

have you installed them yet. As I read it they were up to the 06 model. I was going to try and find them at a junkyard myself but haven't gotten to it...hate slamming my doors.

Quite a demand out there now.

The weather-strip from the 2006-2009 Civic coupes are the ones that you want,
Correct length with no trimming, a continuous loop with one formed corner that you can tuck down in one of the lower corners. I also tried the weather-strip from an Oddesy van, a Pilot, a Accord coupe and a Accord Sedan, they all use the same style of weather-strip but they are all to short.
Find the one from the Civic coupe and you will be most happy.

What rob said 06-09 work and yes I have installed them it's crazy how well they fit like it was made for our trucks.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I just got a pair off craigslist for 30 bucks.
They fit well but there is a downside. The trim piece on the inside sticks out too far.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Been doing a little research and it seems the same part number is valid for the 2010-2011 civic as well. Anybody confirm this or is it just internet bunkem?

P. :D

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I can barely see it on my new ones. for $30 yours are used? if they had trim installed and then removed maybe thats why they stick out more.

Gooker928 02-14-2015 03:35 PM

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Maybe that's the problem. I'm just going to trim that flap off.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Score! Just managed to find a pair (used) for $40.00! I'm all over this! Been daily driving mine and holding off installing the stock glue in seals until I painted the inside of the cab.
Now I can put em in and stop suffering through the damn whistling!

Good call on a little research here! Thanks for your efforts!

Andice 02-20-2015 12:21 PM

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

And when you get around to painting the cab you can simply remove the weatherstrip and reinstall after painting.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Indeed!!!!! Very happy as its been unusually cold for my area and the doors are my biggest leak point now! LOL

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Just an update. I picked up my used seals yesterday and installed them. It went better than I could have imagined. That said. I took multiple pictures that I thought were valuable to this thread. I will be sure to post them as soon as I have a few minutes.

4mulaSvaliant 02-23-2015 09:04 AM

Install pictures and review.

Ok first and foremost pay no mind to my crusty old Daily driver! LOL I made it reliable and now I am working on all the crusty stuff! :metal:

So here we go.

This first picture was something I was interested in very much, and that is the actual fit that everyone says is so damn awesome. Proof is in the picture! They fit better than Chevy would have made em'!

This is the last of the "stretch" in pushing on the seal. It is not actually stretched in this picture, it seated properly and very nicely, with no tension trying to make it pop back off.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Q...6-no/upload_-1

Here is a little something I did (may not have been necessary), but I gently pinched the seal (the whole thing) before installing it. I feel it helped a bit just to get a better bite and Ill not have to worry about it coming off.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-h...6-no/upload_-1

Here is the seal being pressed on to the door jamb. Nothing all that interesting really, but good to see since we are all here wondering how they fit. ;)

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-d...6-no/upload_-1

Here is the seal installed. This is the drivers side looking at the A-pillar. The compression of the seal is like this all the way around the door and I am extremely happy with it.
*NOTE*
There must be a few colors of these seals. (Hence the "graphite" in the description of the part number supplied earlier in the thread)
This may be valuable information since the part number supplied seems to be getting depleted.

Maybe look for another color? (beige or grey?)

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Z...6-no/upload_-1

Just a few pictures of the corners to show there is no stretching or trying to pop off.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-c...6-no/upload_-1

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-o...6-no/upload_-1

Now for the one and only thing I wasnt a fan of.

BUT...... I feel it is completely negated by all the "PROs" for this swap.

The seal has a secondary "flap" that is likely used to cover the edge of the Hondas plastic interior panels. It is roughly 3/16" and in my case the seal is light grey.

There does seem to be a fix for this if it seems to bother you all that much.
You could potentially trim it off cleanly (and carefully). At that point you would be left with the black colored edge that is actually the "gripping" part of the seal. That portion does look presentable as well.

(Picture taken with the camera at the windshield lookin in at the A-pillar)

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9...6-no/upload_-1

And finally the over all look from inside the cab! As you can see, the portion mentioned above really is a NON-ISSUE as it doesnt draw any attention at all.
I pointed it out to my wife and she (as usual) said I was ridiculous and that nobody would ever even notice it. Hahahaha

I hate the YELLOW by the way! It will be gone ASAP! Hahahah

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-W...6-no/upload_-1

So I hope this answers a few questions!
I give this mod and research put into it a 12 on a scale of 1-10! :)
