I noticed I call my truck it as the name has not divulged itself. Rodney has come up as it's name. Usually the name comes out during the build but not yet. Not even sure if it's a girl or guy truck either. Just keep building and it will come to me I guess.

My neighbor is taking his project out to the hanger to assemble the rest. This is his third but second amphibious ultra light built in his garage

Rear end is in place and it all fit back together. I still need rear springs and blocks to set ride height. Gas tank is in with the new straps. Looking purdy !

Thanks it's starting to pay off with all the hard work. I did help with all three he built. The first was a challenger and the second two are sea-rays . I flew the challenger with him in it.

Looking really good. Just wondering which bushings you used on your custom trailing arms and second what size is the tube you used to build them. I'd like to build a set for mine as well.

I used new stock bushings, I took a piece of 2" tube 3/16 wall and cut it to right length . Then cut a strip out of the length and squeezed it back together to right id size. I could not find the right size tube so the was the best way to resize the tube as I don't want to pay to have a piece machined. All the parts I made use stock size bushings. The arms are 2x3x3/16 and the set the offset to 12.5 deg. There is a piece of tubing in all the bolt holes as well so the 2x3 tube doesn't crush when bolting U bolts and springs in.
Thanks Derek

Drive shaft in, E-brake cables in, clutch linkage in with an extra spring on it so it stays together. Springs and spindles on but waiting for the paint to dry on the rotor to finish. It is just about ready for the cab.

Front brakes done. Now to lift the cab back on . Things are coming together quick with all the parts ready to go on.

Re: 67 long box

Coming together nicely. Working with clean parts makes things so much simpler. I would say its a shame that all your hard work will be covered up soon and not seen but that's not always the case. Because the true car/truck fanatics will be laying on the ground just to sneak a peak. Keep up the good work.

Re: 67 long box

Thanks and ya all this work not to be seen. Like you said "we know it's right and it's looks perfect but it will only be me and my mechanic who safeties it will ever see it. The truck will look very similar to when I drove it in the shop to when I drive it out with 1000 or so hours under it.

Thanks Derek

You are going at a breakneck pace compared to most builds on here, I think you are going to be done before May unless you hit a financial roadblock.

Metaldoc 11-14-2015 11:53 AM

Re: 67 long box

Thanks and if I do keep up this pace I will be ready for May or sooner, It gives me time to do a nice job on details at the end. I have most of the stuff for the truck as it was a driver when I bought it . The cost starts to add up quick in the end part of the build though.

I even impressed myself with the kick panel repair on the drivers side considering it was made from scratch. It looks like I cut it out of another cab and welded it in.
