I'm ready. I'll probably just sit in the painted shell on a 5 gallon bucket and make engine sounds until I can get the drivetrain installed.
A few more under pix of it coming together... |

You definitely have the right shop working on this thing. Gonna be top notch

Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Any updates on this build?
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Not much since these pix were taken. Body was stripped to bare metal and epoxy primed. It was moved out of the shop in Oct 2019. Now waiting to be finished up by another shop. I'm working on 2 other restorations (71 4x4 Blazer & 70 2wd Jimmy) while this one waits in the wings. I'm driving them as much as I can when weather permits and making updates along the way.
We are a few months away from any more updates on this one as it collects dust in the interim. |

Could you post a couple of close-up photos of the “B” pillar bottom where it meets the tub floor.
Looking to see how far in B pillar goes on the tub floor. Thanks, Les |

The B-pillar lines up almost with the raised pads on the cargo floor. There are a few things that need to line up though and I'm sure there is are some nuances for each install (how many OEM parts vs. aftermarket):
Here is a better shot - older picture. After building one of these up from scratch (on my 71 4x4 Blazer project) - I can see how these all rusted out in the B-pillar as there are several pockets for mud, etc. can hide and cause issues. |

UPDATE! Finally after ~3 years... Yes - I still have this thing.
Truck has been in storage since moving to a new shop back in 2019. Making some progress again though. Received a new spray out to match the original truck color of 524 red orange and body is almost ready. I'm sending along a few parts (NOS ashtray, fuel filler cover and the glove box door) to get matching paint when the interior gets done. |
