Is the plan to clean up the rest of the paint to get it close to matching?

No I am not doing anything with the existing paint. I just painted the parts that were were replaced instead of leaving all different colors. I would imagine that the paint might be able to be brought back a little, it is a Copper Poly 522 which has some metal flake in it. Which makes it harder to bring back and look good. There are parts that are just faded pretty bad ( see picture 1). That being said it did look pretty good when the truck was wet during washing it. (pict 2)

To do this truck justice it really needs to have the body work completed and a complete paint job and new trim. When I started it had holes big enough in the rocker area of the floor that I could see the road, the drivers side bedside was buckled beyond repair and the passenger side fender was also buckled pretty bad. At least now it has good metal to work with.

News year day was such a nice day outside in the 40's which is warm for Idaho this time of the year, decided what a better way to start the new year by enjoying the fruits of my labor. Took the 72 out for a real spin instead of just up and down the block. Stopped a few places and took a few photos. Put about 50 miles on the truck on back roads, hills and a few on the highway. Truck drove great and wow it really rides nice. This was the first time it has really been out since I rescued it from being parted out. Pulled up in the driveway after the drive and just smiled inside and out. Complete enjoyment after all that work, very fulfilling to say the least.

Looks great, glad you got it out for a cruise, and enjoyed yourself!
That is the seat color mine should have, PO put a new seat cover that matches the dash pad.

The truck has been sold pending final payment. It is going to a great home and it will live on. So glad I had the opportunity to bring it back to life. Time to start gearing up for the next K10 build. Thanks to all that followed the thread!

Good deal. Looks like you struck a deal with my good friend. That means I’ll be able to see it myself.
