So at the Rod Run my wife amd son finally decided to for a long ride with me. Well at the Rod Run a lomg ride is moving about a few feet every cpuple of minutes. And it was hot and humid those days. So she says turn on the AC. AC works great in my truck. But sitting and not moving it bogs the truck down. Now understand my truck has to idle around 1150. So I turn it on for her and as I know truck Boggs down. No issue for me cause I just ride with the windows down but with my wife and son AC was in use. So then I here how can you have this much money in this truck and you can't run the AC. I said well if you let me spend a little more we won't have this issue. So I order up the Holley AC solenoid. So great well... I have the fancy Lokar Holley throttle cable kick down cable setup. Extreamly nice. But guess what it won't work with the Holley AC solenoid. So I call up Lokar and birch. Lol. Hell they are only a half a mile away from the house. And the good people over at Lokar stepped up. They gave me a new throttle kickdown bracket plus a new black braided throttle and kick down cable. Just awesome of Lokar doing that. So now I can install the Holley AC solenoid. He is all the goodies Lokar hooked me up with.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Well the last few weeks have been some BS. It all started with a charity car show for raising money to buy kids glasses. Car show was good for that reason the kids. It was a small car show maybe 75 total vehicle from old to new ricer to muscle. So of course I was in the truck class. My only competition was a 98 Ford F150 Roush edition. It was stock minus a CAI. My son and wife finally came out to a show. We sat and the tall gate ate hot dogs and hamburgers and life was Great. So rolls around the trophies my son was pumped and my wife actually acted like she gave a crap about winning lol. Well I got a slap in the face as they announced the damn 98 ford f150 the winner. My son was upset and honestly I just wanted him to have the trophy lol. Wife was pissed also. And I got to hear all that $ you have put in that truck and you couldn't beat that piece of **** ford. That is the ugliest van body style she said lol. Well I told her it was for the kids. But underneath I was pissed also. So we leave I head home and the truck is rolling hit I40 like a bat out of hell. Windows down having a good old time. Get headed on my road to the house laid into it. Then all of a sudden truck didn't shift like it hit a rev limit. I said **** that damn new throttle bracket and TV cable must have moved. So I let off and stood on it. Smart right that's how I roll. Well this time no issue. Cool. So I get 50 damn feet from the house the truck dies. Turn key it fires and dies. I have just enough momentum so I made it in front of the house. Pop hood turn key over and the kick in the nuts for the day damn fuel pump dead. So after a week of investigating and ordering stuff it got it handled. During the elimination process I found a parts store GM weatherpack plug 16g wire melted the outer cover hot side touched the frame and took the pump out. So a new pump a new sending unit just because and me upgrading the GM weatherepack with 12 gauge wire. Making my own plug was a must for the high volume pump which is shluld have done orginally. Put it all back together and she pumps and fired up. Damn ruff few weeks lol. But I did make some upgrades new wires new e85 Walbro pump. Future proofing haha. Also got some fabricated valve covers made up and getting them powdered. Should have those next week.

Clearly the ones voting do not have any style/taste. Or, maybe they had squarebody envy.

Nonetheless, you have built one heckuva awesome truck and glad you got the issues sorted out too.

Keep on enjoying it and please keep us updated w/ lots of pics!

LOL. Thanks. It's all good now. It was for charity. But when you put as much time and money as most of us have and you get beat by a stock truck it is frustrating. I should have taken picks again of how I setup my fuel setup. But since I had a note 7 aka flame thrower it has been crazy with phones. 2 Note 7 phone and now a Galaxy S7 edge as a replacement. But I got it all lined out now. So more pics and more video coming. Going to put my old valve covers back on so I can drive it today. The Fab covers are not back yet. Got to get some drive time before the TN vs AL game today. Then depending on the score I might drive it some more lol.

Awesome that's what I wanted to hear. The only thing that AFR has that wasn't good was the valve covers. They don't make them they just engrave them. The grommet holes are way way to big. They told me to RTV or find grommets that fit. Got my $ back. But I am pumped about getting the TXR intake installed!!!

Looks like you have the AFR spacer also. I have that myself. How has the intake been doing? Any leaks? Any issues? After the cars and coffee this weekend I am putting the TXR on.

So I am retractingoing my comment about the AFR valve covers. After 3 sets they sent the 3rd set was good. So I am sending the fabricated covers back. I just really like the look of the AFR valve covers. Nice gloss black powder and the AFR engraving on them. But damn 3 sets so breather holes are drilled right ****.

No leaks so far, Spacer was added to tweak that little extra HP.
It was recommended by the AFR guys, they were great to work with.

I did hear some of the TXR's SBC intakes were distorting at the rear distributor hole, causing an oil leak at the rear of the engine. You had to send it back to AFR for a small reinforcement plate they installed under the hole. Other than that my .040 327 made 650HP on the dyno.

The manifold is outrageous in price but the quality and port match was perfect on my 210cc heads.

Yes I know all about that little extra HP lol. Yeah they did that Update back in 2012 with the reinforced plate on the bottom for the rear China wall. Mine has that. 650 that is stout.
