Way back in '97, I was at the Sport Truck Nationals show in Owensboro, KY. There was an extended crew shortbed dually there, but his had a twist. The extended cab portion came from a 3-door truck. So, it was now a 5-door extended crew. I took pics of it. It's probably buried somewhere in a bag of undeveloped film I have that I can't find. |
Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
Christopher you need to get the side moulding put all the way back. It would make it look so much better. Keep up the great work.

Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
Great Build...Not a simple project... Your Build has inspired Two more similar trucks. My Son ( DUB X ) and I have started his 50/50 Turban project. My son showed me this site a few weeks back and I have spent many many hours looking at builds. I liked your Idea the most. Ours will be a little shorter than yours but very close. we will be using a standard cab for the back of the truck and and a short truck bed, but cutting the burb off farther back than yours. we want to be able to lay the back seats down when its finished. The raised floor will be a challange but we will figure it out. I would really like to see yours up close.

Still need to take you up on that offer to go look at the truck, though.

Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
Very sweet build! If you can take on a project like that, then I have no reason to procrastinate on finishing my simple 81 swb! Lol

Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
I've decided I need rear a/c Anyone have any experience building their own AC um (evaporator?) box with the fan and coil in. The one that was in the rear of the suburban is damaged, not to mention too big to fit under the rear seat. My plan is to build my own to fit under the rear seat of the extended cab. It will no longer have a heater coil or floor registers, therefore saving space from the heater coil and dampers involved. Building the box to house the factory components becomes the issue.

Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
I didn't even realize you didn't use the rear AC. I figure you had set it up. We were gonna use it, but the rear ac lines were destroyed. I guess at one time the Suburban had a blowout in the right rear and it just hashed the ac lines.

Re: 8-9 seater shortbed
Also - was wondering if you were gonna be able to make it to any of the Wheaton cruise-ins this year?
