I haven't put in a notch (yet), I am considering one of the Porterbuilt bolt in C notch though. As with all of Nate's products it appears to be outstanding. I'm only going to do so in an effort to gain more load carrying ability. Probably will add some helper bags so i can tow my boat.

Hey badriand...
You just have coils and shocks on the back, or a cnotch too? What about panhard bar or shock relocators? I'm about to buy a 3/5 spring and shock kit and am wondering if I will be ok in the back with just that, thanks!

Oops for to add ApacheWillard. Yea i have a C-notch on back and a shorter panhard bar. No shock relocators. I did a notch with 5" coils on back and had tons of clearance ( at that time really didn't need notch). Now that i have added 2 inch blocks with the 5 inch coils i need the notch. Can't say for sure if you need notch or not (you can always add later or just take coils off and drop truck down and see what kind of clearance you have without notch.

I also did mine 5" and 7"
front- 3" springs-2" spindles
rear--5" springs-2" block (slightly shaved and angled for pinion)
I C-notched the frame along with an adjustable panhard bar.

The top of the rear is actually closer to the bed wood than the rear to the C-notch. I have about 3" from the rear to the wood. No problems though

20" wheels all the way around

Is it just the angle that the picture was taken or is the bottom of the LCA pretty close to the ground? It looks like it's lower than the bottom of the rim.

Also what size tires are you running? Looks good.

Sorry it took so long for response...... no c notching. use regular 87 shocks in front, trimmed half the bump stop off. it will sometimes bottom out in a hard dip in the road... used stock rear shocks...

love that rake Stealth! Ive got a 64 lwb that has 4" cpp springs in rear now and Im about to do the 2.5 spindles and 3" springs up front - Im hoping it comes out close to your stance!!

haha sweet!:metal: how much more (or did) the POL arms drop you? looks like how the lower arm 'cup' sits it would drop your shock height right?

New to the forum and thought I'd learn about posting pictures. This is my work in progress/daily driver when theres not 6 feet of snow blowing around way up here. It's only lowered a little but I figure that counts for something.

I see alot of people on here with six lugs who say they are using drop spindles. What spindles are you using, and did you have to change to disc brake set up? What rotors are you using if so?

On my 62 C10 I'm going to use BELL 2 1/2" drop Spindles and McGaughy's 6 lug rotors on a 78 'burb clip with 3" drop coils.

The aftermarket drop spindles that you see are set up for HD brake using the 1 1/4" rotors vs the LD 1" rotors.

So if you buy the drop spindles you can run stock HD 1 1/4" 5 lug rotors or aftermarket 6 lug rotors...

OR you could run the 6 lug rotor on a stock HD spindle if you don't want the drop.

I'm unaware of a LD brake rotor option that would allow you to run 6 lug wheels...

Let us know what you come up with and PICS are always fun too!

I have a whole set up off of a 79 but wasnt sure about the rotors. I have a set of five lug rallies from my old truck but wasnt sure If I could just swap out rear axles to make the rear five lug. Im not really ready to do the whole front end swap yet either. I posted a pic of my truck on the other thread thats exactly like this one but Ill go ahead and post one here too. I cut 1 1/2 off of the front coils and used jeep springs in the rear. It rides really nice but I havent tried hauling much in it yet. I have a set of those overload air bags I can install if its too weak.

cut 1.5 coils up front off of stock spring; rear has 1998 jeep grand cherokee rear coils with 1 coil cut and 1-5/8" lowering blocks (they were 2" blocks)
rides smooth and handles great for a cheap drop
